Meet Christopher Meloni’s 2 Kids — Sophia and Dante

Christopher Meloni may be a big Hollywood star, but he’s also the father of two young adults, Sophia and Dante. The 61-year-old actor and his production designer wife, Sherman Williams, have been married for 27 blissful years while managing both their successful, busy careers and raising a family — a love story you don’t see too often in Hollywood. The “Law & Order: SVU” actor considers himself a hands-on dad, and at times, maybe a little “crazy.”

“I think my kids would call me a little crazy,” he said in a previous interview with USA Today. “I’m very physical, very affectionate. I’m also very disciplined and focused on education.” Likewise, he also encourages his kids to express themselves whether that be in athletics or the arts.

Meloni’s parenting style was impacted by how he felt as a child growing up. “What works for me is empowering my kids,” he said. “I remember not having any power when I was growing up. Power helps kids mature, and it requires critical thinking on their part,” he added. “They feel engaged in a decision, which makes them feel engaged in the family process.”
