After catching herself nearly uttering an expletive, Phillip Schofield said: ‘It’s such a shame because we love it when you just let rip,’ to which Miriam responded: ‘I know but it upsets some people.

‘And I don’t want to upset people because the whole thing is, life is s**t at the moment, it really is. It’s terrible.’

After releasing she’d just sworn anyway, Miriam exclaimed ‘Oh!’ as Phillip and Holly Willoughby burst out laughing.

‘I’ve let myself down, sorry,’ she said. ‘I just want to make people happy! I apologise to everybody for that word!’

Miriam shocked the hosts when she announced: ‘He was a bit smelly because it was very hot in Mexico and young boys don’t make themselves fragrant, they don’t wash all the bits!’

She went on to note that she’d advised one of the This Morning production team to look into their personal hygiene, leaving Holly and Phil hiding behind their hands.

Cheeky: After releasing she’d just sworn anyway, Miriam exclaimed ‘Oh!’ as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby burst out laughing

Miriam is no stranger to setting Twitter alight and in her last appearance on This Morning she shocked by breaking wind before launching into a bizarre rant about Madonna.

The actress was on the sofa to talk about appearing on the show Lost in Scotland with Alan Cummings when she suffered from an unexpected bout of flatulence.

A giggling Phillip announced: ‘I can’t. I can’t. I’m professional, I should pull myself together. Miriam’s just done the most enormous fart.’

Hilarious: Taking to Twitter during the chat amused viewers shared their delight

While he and co-host Holly collapsed in laughter, Miriam replied ‘You outed me!

‘When you’re embarrassed you’re at your most open – don’t be afraid to feel embarrassed. Just now when I farted, I feel embarrassed. I get over it, but I feel embarrassed!’

Miriam also laid into iconic singer Madonna and labelled the idea that anyone should be frightened of the singer as ‘laughable.’

She revealed that her new co-star Alan had told her he was afraid of the singer, having met her through his graphic artist husband Grant Shaffer who has worked on her music videos.

Miriam said: ‘You cant be frightened of Madonna. Alan has got more talent in his little finger than she has in her whole body.’

She added: ‘Madonna doesn’t frighten me and I don’t want anybody to be frightened of anybody, particularly Madonna.’

In another interview she also left host Phillip smiling when she claimed she guessed his sexuality prior to his coming out.

She said: ‘You’re very brave too because you came out. I sort of thought you might be gay when I met you because you’re a bit camp. And I’m a bit camp too.’

Yet Miriam’s comments haven’t always gone down well, and she previously sparked outrage from viewers for claiming Boris Johnson should have died of Covid when he contracted the virus.

Her outburst in 2020 came just days after the Prime Minister revealed that doctors were preparing to announce his death in case he lost his battle with the virus, as he admitted he was ‘a lucky man’.

In an incredible statement on Channel 4’s The Last Leg in May, Miriam told viewers: ‘I wanted him to die.’

Asked how she thinks the government have dealt with the pandemic, the star said: ‘Appallingly, of course, appallingly. It’s a disgrace, it’s a scandal. It’s a public scandal.

‘I mean, I had difficulty not wanting Boris Johnson to die. I wanted him to die. Then I thought that will reflect badly on me and I don’t want to be the sort of person that wants people to die.’

Ofcom received 494 complaints over her comments, but a spokesperson confirmed that no investigation would take place following an initial assessment.
