Today, Naga Munchetty, 47, broadcasted live from Downing Street following the news Liz Truss had resigned. Joining her to cover the most talked about story of the week was her ITV rival Susanna Reid, 51.

Naga stood outside the famous number 10 to report coverage for BBC Breakfast, while Susanna was there for Good Morning Britain.

The respective shows are aired at the same time during the week.

The presenter shared a picture of them smiling for the camera as they embraced each other’s company.

Fans were quick to notice their similar styles for the occasion, both opting for belted wrap coats and boots.

Susanna also gave fans an insight into reporting on the event on Instagram.

The presenter shared a picture of Naga smiling for the camera as she stood in front of papparazzi.

She went on to post the snap of the pair alongside the caption: “Good Morning Breakfast.”

Susanna also uploaded a selfie with Larry the cat in the background which was praised by viewers.

She commented: “Morning! History in the making – our country’s shortest-serving Prime Minister is out & the race for No 10 is back on. @gmb #LarryLastedLonger.”

Naga joked about being ignored by the Downing Street feline during her broadcast this morning.

She told viewers: “We saw Larry the cat here and one of the things we’ve noticed is that he’s quite aloof.

“He doesn’t really care for strangers.

“I think he’s been so used to people coming in and out [of Downing Street] so I have extra admiration for you, Charlie [Stayt] because you actually managed to get a little stroke with him. He’s completely ignored all of us here.”
