Naomi’s surprise announcement comes after she welcomed her first child, a daughter, in May 2021.

She stunned fans by announcing the birth, just weeks after appearing on the New York Fashion Week runway without a visible baby bump.

In an interview with British Vogue, Naomi insisted her daughter was not adopted while revealing her face for the first time.

Speaking to British Vogue in July last year, while posing with her daughter for an exclusive cover shoot, the model confirmed: ‘She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.’

Naomi played coy during the new interview, and despite confirming her daughter is not adopted, refused to elaborate further on her first born.

However she admitted that very few of her wide circle of friends and family members knew she was planning on becoming a parent.

She explained: ‘I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her. But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.’

At the the time of the birth, she shared a picture cradling her daughter and stated she has never felt a ‘greater love.’

Arrival: Naomi announced she had become a mother with a surprise Instagram post, four years after crediting science with giving her the opportunity to start a family ‘whenever she wants’

She did not disclose the method in which she welcomed her daughter, but four years ago credited science with giving her an opportunity to start a family ‘whenever she wants’, suggesting she was leaning towards using a surrogate.

Offering a first look at her new arrival with a picture of her baby girl, whose name has still not been revealed, Naomi penned: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

‘So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.’

Naomi was last in a relationship with rapper Skepta in 2018 but enjoyed a fling with Liam Payne the following year. She has also enjoyed high-profile relationships with the likes of Diddy, Robert De Niro, Mike Tyson and Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin over the years.

She is not believed to be dating anyone new at present.

In March, Naomi celebrated Mother’s Day by sharing a slew of rare photographs with her daughter.

Taking to Instagram the model posted a string of snaps, each with her daughter’s face covered.

HOW DID NAOMI BECOME A MOTHER AT 50 YEARS OLD?

Naomi has not revealed the method in which she welcomed her daughter but has previously spoken about her many options for starting a family

SURROGACY

Some mature mothers choose to have a baby via surrogacy, when someone has a baby for a couple who cannot have a child themselves.

Straight surrogacy uses the surrogates own eggs to conceive and can take place at home using artificial insemination, using an insemination kit or via a clinic using IUI or IVF with the surrogate acting a known egg donor.

Surrogacy is legal in the UK, but it’s illegal to advertise for surrogates. No financial benefit other than reasonable expenses can be paid to the surrogate.

Naomi previously hinted at looking into surrogacy when she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

 PREGNANCY

More mothers are waiting until later in life to have children, but pregnancy after 50 is still quite rare.

A woman’s fertility begins to decline in her early 30s. After age 35, her number of viable eggs starts to fall more quickly.

However celebrities have made headlines for having kids in their later years, including Janet Jackson who had her son, Eissa Al Mana, at age 50.

Naomi said she wanted to welcome a child with a partner, stating: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you’

She also hinted at wanting a traditional family set up when she announced: ‘I want the same things as every other woman: the house, the kids, the lot’

In another interview she said: ‘I’d love to have kids. I don’t discount anything in life. I love kids and always will.’
