Neighbours veteran Ryan Moloney reveals surprising career change as the soap comes to an end after 37 years
Neighbours veteran Ryan Moloney has revealed his surprising career change.
The actor, who has played Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi on the soap since 1995, told The Daily Telegraph he is doing a civil construction course.
‘I’m not ruling anything out. I’m doing a civil construction course which is about driving excavators and building roads,’ Ryan, 42, said.

‘I like playing with those kinds of machines. I like doing earthworks, all that kind of manual labour stuff. That’s where I’m at, but who knows where it’s all going to end up.’
Ryan also revealed he has a commercial pilots licence and said he ‘might come back to flying when the time’s right’.
It comes after the actor recently filmed his final scenes on Neighbours after the soap was cancelled following a historic 37-year run.

Neighbours was axed after the UK’s Channel 5 decided in March not to renew its contract with production company Fremantle to finance and broadcast the series.
The last episode of Neighbours will air in Australia on July 28.
Ryan recently revealed he was planning to leave Neighbours before the show was axed.

The actor revealed he felt it was time to leave the soap after 27 years.
‘I was thinking now is the time,’ he told the Herald Sun.
‘But I have always said I want to ride the wave all the way to shore, so I am actually really grateful I got to do that and experience the end. What a wonderful thing to be able to do,’ he added.
