Olivia Bowen sees specialist over health concerns after complicated birth:

Two months on from welcoming her son, Olivia Bowen has opened up on how she's finding motherhood and the health concerns she's had since Abel's arrival.

Speaking exclusively to OK! in promotion of Natures Aid Mini Drops, the new mum explained that she's set up an appointment with a post-natal specialist after experiencing some "complications" during the birth of her baby boy.

"I have an appointment with a post-natal specialist to check my pelvic floor and lots of other parts of my wellbeing after birth," she explained.

Olivia, who recently shared an update on her renovation project with a house tour, added: "I had a bit of a complicated birth, so getting help and advice from a professional is extremely important to me."

While she's gone to professionals for her medical health, the former Love Island star has relied heavily on her friends to support and give advice on becoming a parent for the first time with her husband Alex, 31.

She told OK! that her pals told her the "ins and outs" of going into labour and giving birth, including all the "down and dirty details" about how her breasts would change.

"When something happened that was new to me, I would always message the girls like, 'Is this normal?!'" she said.

It appears 10 weeks deep she and Alex are juggling parenthood just fine as she shared the key to their success. Olivia explained: "Communication is everything. We wouldn't have got through it without being able to say exactly how we felt as it just helps iron out any problems that may come up."

She added: "Also, fresh air – get out and walk it off!"

Olivia's lowdown on parenthood comes after she recently revealed her husband found the birth of their child more traumatic than she did.

During an Instagram Q&A session with her 3million followers, the reality star said: "I'm sure he won't mind me saying but Alex found the birth more traumatic than me I think. He hates seeing me in pain & not being able to do anything about it.

"He was my rock throughout he was so calm on the exterior to me, but I know he got upset & took himself away from the situation a few times so he didn't do it in front of me."

"We both cried when he was here. It was nearly two days so we were both just exhausted but so happy," she added with a red heart emoji.
