Palace used Meghan Markle as ‘scapegoat’ and ‘fed stories to press’, claims new trailer

As the second instalment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell docuseries is set to drop on Netflix tomorrow, Thursday 15 December, a second trailer has been released.

The clip focused on the press Meghan received while living in the UK, and accused the Palace of using the former Suits actress as a "scapegoat".

She says to the camera: "You would just see it play out. A story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute, and they'd go, 'We gotta make that go away'."

Meghan's comments were backed up by lawyer Jenny Afia, who claims to have seen evidence of "negative briefing" about Meghan from the Palace.

"The was a real kind of war against Meghan," Jenny began. "And I've certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the Palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other people's agendas."

She went on to label the coverage of the break down of Meghan's relationship with her father Thomas Markle as "the final straw in a campaign of negative, nasty coverage about her".

The actress' friend Lucy Fraser also weighed in, saying: "Meg became this scapegoat for the Palace. And so they would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not to avoid other less favourable stories being printed."

In another trailer for the second instalment of Harry & Meghan, the mum-of-two says she was "fed to the wolves" by The Firm.

"Our security was being pulled. Everyone in the world knew where we were," she says. "I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.”

Prince Harry added: "I wonder what would’ve happened to us had we not got out when we did.”
