Pete Doherty confirms wife Katia 7 months pregnant with his third child

Pete Doherty and wife Katia de Vidas have confirmed they are expecting their first child together later this year.

The couple made the announcement during an interview with the French magazine Society, where they revealed Katia's due date was sometime in May.

They also added that they are expecting a baby girl.

The Libertines frontman, 43, began dating Katia in 2012 and told the publication that they're forming "a solid and protective clan".

Pete and Katia married in 2021 at a private ceremony at the Domaine Saint Clair hotel in the French city of Etretat. Their happy news came just two days after confirming their engagement.

Reports that the couple were expecting a child together first emerged in December when sources claimed Pete had been chatting to fans about the news following a gig in Strasbourg.

However, there was no sign of the news on either Pete or Katia's social media accounts.

One of the sources told the MailOnline: "They were happily talking about the news with fans after the show who waited behind to speak to them."

Pete already has a daughter called Aisling, 11, from a former relationship with South African model Lindi Hingston and a son called Astile, 19, who he shares with singer Lisa Moorish.

In 2009, Lisa told Metro how she had banned him from seeing his son because of his drug habits but after going through rehab he was allowed to be a much more hands-on dad.

She said: "Peter has on-and-off problems with his recovery so it was a really difficult decision to make.

"But when he came out of rehab last year, and started to get his life in order I thought the time was right. I want Astile to have a dad."

The rock and roll star first shot to fame in the mid-2000s with indie band The Libertines but became a household name when he started dating supermodel Kate Moss.

He and Kate dated from 2005 until 2007 and just weeks after their split he proposed to model and singer Irina for the second time, after the pair previously dated in 2004.

But this relationship didn't last either and the couple ended their renewed romance a matter of months later with Pete going on to date model Lindi Hingston and the late Amy Winehouse before finally finding Katia.
