Pete Wicks says he ‘doesn’t want to date’ despite being spotted filming Celebs Go Dating
Despite being spotted outside of the infamous Celebs Go Dating agency alongside a fresh batch of fellow big-name singletons, TOWIE hunk Pete Wicks is insisting he's happiest as a single man.
Catching up with OK! exclusively at The Only Way is Essex Launch Party on Monday, Pete, 33, joked having no knowledge of his upcoming E4 appearance, teasing: "What's Celebs Go Dating? It sounds like a good show!" despite having signed up for the show twice in the past five years.
The Essex lad – whose past on-screen romances have included the likes of ex's Jess Wright, Megan McKenna and Shelby Tribble, as well as gal-pal-turned-friends-with-benefits Chloe Sims – added: "No dating for me at the moment, I'm focusing on myself."
Last week, Pete, singer Sinitta, The Apprentice's Navid Sole, Geordie Shore star Bethan Kershaw and Love Island alum Laura Anderson were all seen heading into Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson’s London office, where the dating expert pair pledge to find them true love.
Pete originally appeared on the widely-adored dating series back in 2019, during which he was unexpectedly confronted by ex Megan, who was also appearing as a fellow love-hungry contestant.
Despite failing to find love, he and his former flame did make amends and have remained civilised ex's ever since.
Pete then signed up for the show's virtual series during 2020 lockdown a year later, which saw him romance several potential partners before giving each of them the boot.
A source told The Sun last week however: "Pete is going back onto Celebs Go Dating for a third series to see if they can find him a match.
They added: "It is third time lucky for Pete and he thinks this time could be luckier for him than before.
"Obviously the agency has their work cut out with finding Ms Right for Pete and they will be pulling out all of the stops."
Despite all evidence suggesting the long-haired Lothario was looking for love again, he exclusively insisted to OK!: "I only have room for my two dogs at the moment. Eric and Peggy are all I need."
Unluckily for Pete however, his TOWIE pal James Lock let the cat out of the bag when he informed us that Pete had signed up for the show once again.
Discussing his own potential reappearance on Celebs Go Dating, Lockie – who joined the 2020 series – laughed: "Pete is doing it again, so why not? It’s a great show. I would love to do it again!".
