Phillip Schofield removed from Prince’s Trust ambassador role amid affair scandal

Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield is no longer an ambassador from the Prince's Trust amid his affair scandal with a younger male on the daytime show.

Although the official charity website still features a photograph of the presenter laughing with King Charles and Fearne Cotton at a previous event, a Prince’s Trust spokesperson told OK!: “In light of Phillip’s recent admissions, we have agreed with him that it is no longer appropriate to work together.”

Phillip’s own website also previously stated on the “About” page that he was an ambassador for the charity which was founded by King Charles in 1976.

It read: “Outside of work, Phillip is an Ambassador for the charity The Prince's Trust, dedicating time to further the work of supporting vulnerable young people in the UK.”

However, it appears to have changed with the site now simply referring to the former presenter as a “broadcaster, author, and wine-lover”.

It didn't go unnoticed that the presenter was missing from the Prince’s Trust Awards earlier this month while his former This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby attended amid their reported feud.

The Prince's Trust Awards recognise young people who have who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local community.

Holly looked stunning as she attended the event on May 16 and appeared unfazed by her reported feud at the time with Phillip.

Just five days after Phillip didn’t show up to the awards, he announced his resignation from This Morning with “immediate effect” after working on the show for almost 20 years.

Another six days went by before Phillip admitted to having an affair with a “much younger” male runner on This Morning, whilst he was still married to his ex-wife, Stephanie.

In a statement made to MailOnline, Phillip said that he met the man in question "when he was a teenager", and wanted help to get onto television.

Phillip then said: "It was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."

Holly addressed the bombshell news at the weekend where she released a statement writing: “It has taken some time to process yesterday’s new.”

"When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not. It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie," she added.
