Phillip Schofield’s ‘turmoil’ as he’s stopped eating after affair news
Phillip Schofield: ‘It was consensual, but it was my fault’
The former This Morning presenter shared his ongoing “turmoil” since his departure from the ITV programme and subsequently being dropped by his agents.
Phillip Schofield has revealed he is vaping so much since quitting This Morning that he has “blistered both hands” and spends time just staring into space.
The 61-year-old also shared he has been struggling to sleep and has stopped eating since he went public with news of his affair with a young colleague.
Phil, who had presented the show since 2002, said he does “not think I will be able to walk down a street ever again” and his mind is in “constant, utter turmoil”.
During an interview with The Sun, the presenter showed a collection of “blisters and calluses” on his hands, as he admitted: “I’ve been vaping, a lot.
“I didn’t realise until suddenly it hurt, but I’ve been sitting looking up at the sky or out of the window, just staring into space.
“I just sit on the sofa and stare. I realise by doing that, I’ve blistered both hands.”
“I am not sleeping, I am not eating. There’s a lot of Southern Comfort,” he said. “My mind is in constant, utter turmoil. I think back to regrets, forwards to… What do I do now? What am I going to do now?”
Phil resigned from ITV last Friday and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to the “unwise but not illegal” relationship.

Talking to the BBC, he said: “I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart… I have lost everything.
“What am I going to do with my days?” he said. “I see nothing ahead of me but blackness, and sadness, and regret, and remorse, and guilt. I did something very wrong, and then I lied about it consistently.”
Phil also agreed that ITV bosses should have completed “a proper and more thorough investigation” in 2020 and said he hoped the upcoming external review announced by Dame Carolyn McCall on Wednesday would be “thorough”.
He also addressed his relationship with the colleague said the pair were “not boyfriends” and had five or six romantic encounters over a few months.
