Piers Morgan blasts awful Biden for joke after Nashville shooting

Nashville shooting: Police body cam of moment shooter taken out

TalkTV presenter Piers Morgan, 57, blasted US president Joe Biden, 80, on Twitter today following a video clip where he appeared to make a “joke” while being questioned about the most recent in a series of school shootings that have taken place across America over the past few years.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter deemed the president’s comments to be “awful” as he retweeted the clip in view of his 8.4 million followers.

On Monday, three nine-year-old students and three staff members died after a shooting at a private Christian grade school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Suspect Audrey Hale, 28, was also killed following a confrontation with the police at The Covenant School.

This afternoon, Piers shared a video and article from the New York Post, which was titled “Biden jokes he doesn’t believe Christians were targeted in Nashville shooting if Sen. Hawley does.”

In response, Morgan wrote: “What the hell is he doing cracking jokes about a school shooting? Awful.”

In the video, Biden was asked if he believed Christians were targeted in the Nashville shooting.

The question comes after Senator Josh Hawley called on federal law enforcement agencies to investigate the shooting as a religious hate crime yesterday.

“I have no idea,” Biden responded, before the interviewer added: “Josh Hawley believes they were. What do you say to that?”

“Well, I probably don’t, then,” Biden said with a smile, before clarifying: “No, I’m joking. No, I have no idea.”

Covenant School was founded in 2001 as a ministry of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, and Hawley has since demanded the FBI and Department of Homeland Security investigate Monday’s shooting as a hate crime against Christian believers.

Morgan’s followers have since taken to the comments section to share their thoughts on Biden’s comments.

Dennis Herring wrote: “Quite the stretch, Piers. But who knows, you know your audience…”

While Nate argued: “His supporters will still jump through hoops to defend all his actions. Why’s he so jovial about this whole situation?”

Akemi penned: “Do you know how many school shootings there have been? After a while, it’s kinda hard to give a damn enough to be depressed anymore and it’s just another day in America. Move along.”
