Prince Harry’s cruel two-word insult against Camilla which went too far for Charles

An insult aimed at Queen Consort Camilla in Prince Harry’s memoir Spare may have proved too much for King Charles, as the prince and wife Meghan Markle are asked to leave Frogmore Cottage.

The King hasreportedly asked Harry and Meghanto give up their UK residence in Windsor, with the move following Harry’s controversial memoir, Spare.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed earlier this week that the couple had been “requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage” in Windsor, amid a variety of claims Harry made against his family in the book.

In the autobiography, Harry said he feared Camilla would be a “wicked stepmother” as he describes what life was like after his mother, Princess Diana, died and how his father began to move on.

He also refers to her as “the Other Woman” various times in the book, as he writes about his suspicions about her, and claims he and brother Prince William begged their father not to marry her.

Royal sources have claimed Charles made the decision to ask Harry and Meghan to leave Frogmore after being passed a dossier of findings by aides revealing details from the explosive book.

An insider told The Mirror: "It was the last straw. Harry was well aware how Camilla would be a red line for his father and he crossed with flagrant disregard anyway.

"The King felt without a doubt it crossed a line – it was the ultimate act of disrespect."

During his promotion of his book, Harry also went as far as to openly refer to Camilla as “the villain”.

Harry appeared on US show 60 Minutes in January, where he sat down with veteran broadcaster Anderson Cooper to discuss his book, where he claimed that his desires and interests were sacrificed at Camilla’s PR alter.

The prince said: “She was the villain. She was the third person in their marriage. She needed to rehabilitate her image.”

Charles has since requested that Harry and Meghan vacate Frogmore Cottage, a decision that is said to have left the couple "stunned" and two other royals "appalled".

The residence has since been offered to the disgraced Prince Andrew, who is also thought to be against the shakeup of royal households, with insiders claiming that he would rather remain in Royal Lodge, where he has lived since 2003.

Meanwhile, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told OK! that Prince William and Kate Middleton are likely to be supportive of the King's decision.

She told us: "They will be absolutely supportive of Charles’ decision. They probably don’t want Harry and Meghan as their near neighbours.

"They’ll be completely on board with this and support Charles.

"Charles has probably spoken to William about this, but I think they talk about these things a lot.”

OK! have contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
