Priscilla Presley watched as her son Navarone Garcia almost died by an animal attack just days before her daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s death last month.
The 35-year-old musician said that while visiting an animal sanctuary outside of Los Angeles with his mother, 77, a camel weighing 2,000 lbs. ‘pounced on him’ and ‘got his whole head in its mouth’.
Days later, his half-sister Lisa Marie – the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley – passed away at age 54 on January 12 after suffering from cardiac arrest in her California home.
The Them Guns frontman told People that he was feeding the camel that he estimated weighted around 2,000 lbs. and had run out of food.
The animal – which had been previously abused in a circus – then attacked him.

‘When I ran out of food, it bit me by the hand and lifted me almost off my feet,’ he said.
‘It then dropped me on the ground and pounced,’ the son of film producer Marco Garibaldi added. ‘While it was pouncing on me, it literally got my whole head in its mouth and bit me.’
Because the camel was so heavy, he said the sanctuary workers were unable to free him from its grasp until he was fortunately saved by a dog.
‘The dog knew something was wrong and was freaking out and going at its face,’ he recalled. ‘That’s what got the camel off.’
Garcia said his mother – who was watching the attack happen – was ‘freaking out’.
‘She was traumatized,’ he said.
The sanctuary had called 911, but he said he opted to drive about an hour back to Los Angeles to go to the hospital there instead.
‘When we got to the emergency room, it was funny because everybody was sitting there with nothing too serious looking,’ he said. ‘Meanwhile I had blood all over me.’

His bandmate Kyle Hamood also recalled how shocked he was upon hearing the news and seeing pictures of Garcia’s injuries.
‘The photos that he sent me didn’t look real,’ he said. ‘I thought that he was starring in a horror movie photoshoot or something.’
Garcia received 34 staples in his head but said he’s doing better now.
‘I heal quick,’ he said.
‘I mean, I was happy I survived before, but now it’s like, thank God I survived,’ Garcia said. ‘My mom would’ve lost two kids in two weeks.’
