Reality star thought she teleported – but was just looking at her watch wrong

Ali Oetjen, a sweet, well-intentioned reality star, who shot to fame on The Bachelor in Australia, has got us raising a bemused eyebrow this week after believing she’d essentially time-travelled.

Yes, through the art of *manifestation* she thought she’d, evidently, become the first in history as we know it to document human teleportation. Amazing, isn’t it?

Well, it would be amazing had she looked at her watch properly.

Sharing her whimsical theory online, the reality star-turned-wellness influencer – who first appeared on The Bachelor Australia in 2013 before starring on The Bachelorette Australia in 2018 – claimed she manifested an ability to transport her ‘heart and cells’ from the gym to the beach before her, like, physical body.

Trying to show her working, Ali posted a photo of her watch to her Instagram Story this week, believing it to be ‘proof’ that she transported herself 40 kilometres in a minute.

Amazing if true.

She wrote to her 232K Instagram followers in a since-expired Story: ‘This has absolutely tripped my mind! Driving in the car from the gym to the beach, I was imagining transporting my cells and heart from the gym to the beach instead of driving.

‘I know that sounds weird, but I believe we are so powerful.’

All this time we thought we needed a Delorean to transport us through time and space, when really just some good ol’ fashioned imagination could do the trick.

Ali went on: ‘Then I switched my watch on to “walking” as I got out of the car at the beach. I was one minute in and it’s said I’d walked 40km! I literally did it, and transported myself and cells 40kms!!!

‘MIND ABSOLUTELY BLOWN!’

Sadly, our iconic hun didn’t quite travel 40kms in a minute. Instead, she went 1.34kms at a speed of 40kms per hour. Happens to the best of us!

While Ali is yet to address the manifestation time-travel claims, at least she appears to be taking the light ribbing in good humour, sharing a link to an article about her Story alongside a smiley face.
