Ringo Starr Beam Messages Of Peace Into Orbit At Annual Birthday Event
Ringo Starr‘s annual “Peace & Love Birthday” event took place on July 7, his 82nd birthday. The event featured Ringo beaming his traditional “Peace and Love” message into Earth’s orbit.
Ringo gave the “launch” command from the event in Los Angeles to the Artemis Space Network Mission Control Center in Houston, beginning a musical space mission of Peace and Love to orbit the world and travel across the universe.
The Beatles legend and his wife Barbara Starkey were joined on his birthday by family and friends, including current All Starrs Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette, as well as friends Benmont Tench, Jim Keltner, Richard Marx, Matt Sorum, Ed Begley Jr., Linda Perry, Diane Warren, Roy Jr. and Alex Orbison.
They gathered together in Los Angeles and at noon gave the traditional “Peace and Love” exclamation. This year Artemis Music Space Network, through the International Space Station (ISS), amplified that message not only to the entire planet but up into Earth’s orbit and to the stars.
Besides the message, two songs, “Let’s Change The World” and “Star Song,” were also beamed.
Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band recently completed a huge U.S. tour, with more dates to follow in September and October, including two in Mexico.
