Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster ‘renew vows’ for a second time

Sir Rod Stewart, 79, who has been busy touring in Australia, arrived in the country last month to play a series of packed concerts.

Aside from his busy performing schedule, the rocker also reportedly found time away from the tour to renew his wedding vows to wife Penny Lancaster, 52, for a second time.

The couple are said to have reaffirmed their marriage in Sydney in a low-key ceremony witnessed by their sons Alastair, 17, and Aiden, 12, and niece Raphaella, 18.

The lovebirds previously renewed their vows for the first time to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary back in 2017.

The pair first married in 2007 and it has been reported that, with their 16th wedding anniversary fast approaching, it seems they wanted to celebrate their love once more.

According to Woman’s Day magazine, the star even “spaced out his tour” so that his children could come along.

A source told the publication: “There’s a very good reason why Rod’s insisted he space out his tour dates – it’s the perfect place and the perfect time to renew their wedding vows.”

They went on to claim that the couple have been planning a second vowel renew for years but that they had put it off until now.

“Now they can’t wait and are using this chance to do something special while here,” they added.

Sir Rod and Penny were spotted taking a boat out on Sydney harbour last week, causing some speculation around whether they had chosen to reaffirm their vows once more.

It was reported that they later celebrated with a cute dinner alongside Australian television and radio presenter Richard Wilkins.

“Penny and Rod love being in love,” the source continued.

“They think there’s something fun about celebrating their vows in different locations around the world, so why not do it all again in Sydney!”

Express.co.uk has contacted Sir Rod’s representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, Penny’s representatives told Express.co.uk: “I am not able to discuss the matter with her as she is travelling at the moment and is uncontactable.”

The pair’s previous vow renewal took place at their 18th-century home in Essex in front of approximately 100 friends and family members.
