Andrew Tate, 36, has been arrested as part of an investigation into human trafficking and rape, due to allegations that the multimillionaire playboy had been holding women at his home non-consensually and forcing them to participate in pornographic videos to be uploaded to the internet for profit. He was apparently hunted down by police after posting a video taunting Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, which inadvertently revealed where he’d been.

Despite being arrested last night in Romania, where the British-American playboy had been living, he took to Twitter to tell his 4.1 million followers: “God is on our side, so the Matrix will not win.”

He also claimed: “It appears the insanity of the ruling elite is exposed worldwide now. They have one command, do not speak out, behave as sheep.”

Prior to his detainment, he’d poked fun at climate change activist Greta Thunberg for being passionate about the environment, but she had the last laugh after the pizza box he taunted that he wouldn’t be recycling was alleged to be the clue that led the Romanian police to his location.

It wasn’t long before they arrested him, and it has now been announced that they are detaining both him and his brother Tristan for 30 days.

Greta later joked on Twitter: “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes!”

Andrew has always been open about selling explicit footage of women to earn money, revealing on the Fresh and Fit podcast that “at the height of my webcam pimping”, he had thought he was “the King of the world”.

What is under debate is whether the women had worked with him consensually or not.

Police in Romania alleged that he had used the “lover boy method” to “recruit” women, claiming he’d misrepresented his intentions to enter into relationships, before “coercing” them into pornography with physical violence or manipulation.

Andrew, a British citizen, had previously been investigated by police in the UK for allegedly abusing a woman, which he strenuously denied, and was held in a cell for two days. 

He then decided to move to Romania, having previously told The Fellas podcast that he prefers Eastern Europe as “corruption is more accessible”. 

In another video, posted to his Youtube channel, he explained “40% of the reason” for relocating by saying: “I’m not a rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want.”

Andrew, who has sarcastically branded himself the “king of toxic masculinity” has previously claimed in interviews that he believes women are inferior to men and should be treated like property. 

He claims women belong in the home and blasted an ad at Heathrow Airport which encouraged women to take holidays with friends instead of focusing on being “loyal wives” to their husbands.

In one video, he caused controversy by claiming he’d choke and violently attack any woman who accused him of cheating, exclaiming: “It’s bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up, b***h!”

Andrew has insisted that he was merely getting into character for a parody video and that viewers shouldn’t take his comments seriously.

On the BFFs podcast, he also told host Dave Portnoy that a woman who regards herself as his equal would be “the exact kind of woman I would never give the time of day to”.

He also came under fire for claiming that 18 and 19-year-olds are more appealing to him than 25-year-olds as “they’ve been through less d***.”

Meanwhile, he posted a video of Greta Thunberg giving a tearful speech about climate change and accusing politicians of ruining her “dreams”, interspersed with footage of himself roaring with laughter and driving carbon emission-heavy fast cars.

Andrew has since been banned from most social media platforms including Instagram, Tiktok and Youtube, which have stated that they will not tolerate misogynistic material on their platforms.

However, he still owns a website that is said to have hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
