Palace will protect Prince William because hes the future King, says expert

A royal expert has addressed Prince Harry’s explosive comments about his brother, noting that Prince William is first in line to the throne.

With the second instalment of Harry & Meghan set to drop on Netflix tomorrow, Thursday 15 December, the bombshell trailer teased a clip of the former royal accusing the Palace of being “happy to lie to protect my brother”.

Harry says: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother. They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

“I’ve always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for,” he goes on to add.

In light of his claims, royal expert Kinsey Schofield has weighed in on the matter on the To Di For podcast.

Speaking to the Daily Star she said: “Harry has provided the palace with many more controversial stories to navigate than William ever could.

“William is the heir. Of course, the Palace is going to protect him. Keep your nose out of trouble and nothing can be said about you. Look at the Princess Royal.”

She also argued that the Palace has previously done a lot to protect the Duke of Sussex, and that Harry should be “grateful” for this.

“Harry should be grateful that the Palace worked so diligently to change his image,” said Kinsey. “He went from angry bar dweller to war hero overnight.”

She continued: “Had The Firm not protected Harry with a very strategic transformation, there is no way he would have the platform he has now to slander his own flesh and blood. Harry was popular. Because The Firm worked very hard to make him likeable.”

While Harry’s hit out at the Palace, in the first three parts of his Netflix docuseries he praises his late mother Princess Diana for trying to shield him and his brother.

In one episode, Harry can be seen recalling a ski trip to Switzerland in 1995. Archive footage is used to show how 15 photographers followed him, William and Diana as they tried to enjoy time with their cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

"Paparazzi used to harass us to the point of where we had to be forced into smiling and answering questions to the travelling press pack," Harry said.

"And that made me feel really uncomfortable from the get-go," he continued as footage of him and the other royal children were told to smile to the cameras in Switzerland.

He continued to say that Diana did "such a good job" in trying to protect her two sons from the cameras and the press as the weren't left alone.

"She took it upon herself to basically confront these people," Harry said.
