Shakira takes ANOTHER swipe at her cheating ex Gerard Pique in a preview of her new song Empty Cup – after hitting out at his infidelity and new romance in savage tracks

Shakira’s savage digs towards her ex Gerard Pique show no sign of slowing down, with the singer taking yet more swipes in a preview of her new song Empty Cup.

The hitmaker, 45, took to Instagram to share a six-second clip from the new track, with eagle-eyed fans quickly noticing it referenced her split from the footballer.

Shakira hasn’t held back from referencing Gerard’s cheating scandal in her music since their split in June 2022, after she discovered he’d been unfaithful through an empty jar of jam in her fridge.

The star had previously released the scathing track Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 which was littered with references to Gerard’s split, and his new girlfriend Clara Chia.

Shakira is set to release her new song, which she produced with Manuel Turizo, on June 29.

The preview offers several references to her split from Gerard, as she sings: ‘You are always busy with so much business. It would be nice, my love, a little leisure.

‘Relax here on the sofa and give me your attention. The phone rings, use your hand with me I know you’re hot , but I’m much hotter.’

Teasing the new track on Instagram, Shakira penned the caption: ‘On mermaid watch,’ alongside a video of herself surfing across the ocean.

Shakira and Gerard split last year after 11 years together, and the sportsman has since been accused of cheating on her.

The singer realised her ex was having an affair when she discovered a jar of strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away.

Shakira then went onto reference this in a music video for her single Te Felicito in April, which featured a clip of a head of her collaborator Rauw Alejandro inside an open fridge. 

According to ShowNews Today, Shakira knew that Gerard and their children didn’t like strawberry jam, and so she sussed that someone else had been staying at their home when she found the jar.

Shakira returned home from a period of travelling when she noticed the jam in her fridge had been eaten, and she knew the rest of her family disliked it.

The singer appeared to allude to this in the music video for her single Te Felicito, where she can be seen opening a fridge to be greeted by Rauw’s head.

Gerard has since gone public with his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, with Shakira even taking a swipe at her in her new diss track which has since topped Spotify’s Global Charts.

Shakira also didn’t hold back in making digs at her former mother-in-law, setting up a terrifying lifesize witch doll on the balcony of her Spanish home which reportedly looked over her former mother in law’s pad.

Shakira released a diss track aimed at her ex with producer Bizarrap, dubbed Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53, in Spanish back in January.

Residents in the area reported hearing Shakira ‘blasting the song at full volume’ from her former home, which includes lyrics aimed at his new girlfriend. The singer has since relocated to Miami.

Shakira, made it crystal clear she was referring to the 23-year-old her former partner is rumoured to have started dating last year before they split, saying: ‘I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.’ 

While Shakira’s new song features some barbed lyrics aimed at Gerard and his supposed new love Clara Chia Marti, she also includes a few choice words for her ex-mother-in-law.

In the song, she sang the line: ‘You left my mother-in-law as my neighbour, with the press at the door and the debt in the Treasury…’.

It had been reported that the relationship between Shakira and Montserrat Bernabéu [Gerard’s mother] has turned sour after she readily welcomed her son’s new romance.

Twitter was flooded with reports over the song and the scary-looking witch, which had been placed on Shakira’s balcony, with many hailing her a ‘petty queen’.

It comes after it was reported over the weekend that Gerard and Clara are planning to announce their engagement later this week.

The pair went public with their romance last year in the wake of the footballer’s split from Shakira, and sources are now claiming they’re planning to share their engagement news on June 24.

The source told Spanish media: ‘Gerard Pique and Clara Chia are going to get married. The ex-footballer and his girlfriend have taken this very important decision.

‘They have also planned the ideal moment to make the good news public. The announcement will be made on another important date for Pique, the wedding of his brother Marc who is going to marry his childhood sweetheart Maria on June 24.’

Shakira is mother to kids Milan, 10, and Sasha, eight, with Gerard.

Earlier in the month, Shakira emotionally discussed relationships after her painful split from the Spanish former football player.

Speaking at the inaugural Women in Latin Music gala, she said: ‘It doesn’t matter so much if someone is faithful or not; what really matters is if you continue to be faithful to yourself.

‘When I felt most lost, it was music that put me on the path back to myself. There comes a time in every woman’s life when she no longer depends on someone to love or accept herself as she is.

‘The search for the other is replaced by the search for oneself when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic,’ she said.

Shakira spoke to women everywhere, saying as a group, ‘Women are much stronger than we think. We are braver than we think we are. I think we are also more independent than we were taught to be.

‘What woman hasn’t gone through the experience of looking for attention, affection, or approval from others and forgotten about herself? It has happened to me.’

Lewis is reportedly in a ‘love triangle’ with the songstress and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

The driver has been spotted with the singer numerous times since her split from ex-partner Gerard Piqué, 36, last year.

As well as enjoying boat trips together with pals in Miami the pair also dined in Barcelona after Lewis’ second place at the country’s Grand Prix last week.

But according to The Mirror action star Tom, 60, has had his ‘pride dented’ after Shakira seemingly rejected his advances to globe trot with ‘buddy’ Lewis.

A source told the publication the Top Gun star believed he and the singer ‘had incredible chemistry and taking it as a slam dunk they’d be dating in no time’.

According to Us Weekly , the Hips Don’t Lie singer finds the rumours ‘hilarious’ and despite having a ‘fun’ time with Tom when they met at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, she has no plans to take things further.
