Shaughna Phillips reveals what she plans to name baby – and why it won’t be after late dad

Shaughna Phillips has revealed the name she has picked out if she welcomes a baby boy.

The Love Island star, 28, is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, who chooses to remain out of the spotlight.

Shaughna answered some questions about her pregnancy in a Q&A on her Instagram stories and has revealed that if she welcomes a son, she will name him Billy after her parter.

A fan asked Shaughna: "Do you have baby's name sorted already?", to which she replied: "Baby will be named after his dad if it's a boy, so it will be Billy.

"We're keeping the girl's name a secret but it's not a sentimental name, just a name we both love."

In a later story, the mum-to-be also explained why she's chosen not to call her baby Eddie after her late dad, for a heartbreaking reason.

Another curious fan asked: "Why name him after his dad and not your dad?"

Shaughna responded: "When I said 'his dad', I meant the baby's dad, aka my boyfriend. My dad's name will be the baby's second name.

"There's a few reasons I'm not naming my baby after my dad.

"My dad's actual name is Edward but everyone called him Eddie, and I just don't know how OK I would be with saying my dad's name every day.

"I still struggle with my dad not being here, so I think it would be too much for me. Baby will be Billy Edward if it's a boy."

Shaughna shared more details during the Q&A, including why she keeps her relationship private.

Quizzing Shaughna on her partner, a person asked: "Why are you so closed off / secret when it comes to your boyfriend and love life? You don’t share much."

And the OK! columnist replied: "It’s my boyfriend’s personal choice to not be posted on my social media so I respect it.

"Whether he changes his mind in the future I don’t know.

"But for now he would rather not and that’s okay with me, he doesn’t have any social media at all! I guess I make up for the both of us."

While Shaughna doesn’t know the gender of her baby yet, she has admitted that she thinks that she is having a little boy.

She wrote in her exclusive OK! column: “I feel like it's a boy now. I'm not entirely sure why. At the start of my pregnancy journey, I really wanted a girl – but I'm okay with having a baby boy.

"I've seen loads of articles on how the shape of your bump can give you insight into what the gender of your baby could be, but then other places say it's a myth. One of my friends, who has two boys, said her pregnancies were so different and she was convinced she was having a girl the second time around. Then it turned out to be a boy, which made no sense because the pregnancies were polar opposites.”

Shaughna went on: “While at first I really wanted a girl, now I feel as though the gender is kind of irrelevant because I'll be happy with either. At the end of the day, I'm going to love them no matter what.”
