Stacey Solomon and Joe planning to foster a child after sad last baby decision

Joe Swash has revealed that he and wife Stacey Solomon are considering fostering a child after vowing not to have more children of their own

Joe, 41, has admitted that while he is “really sad” he and Stacey, 33, won’t be welcoming more children into the world, the father-of-six hopes to share their family home with disadvantaged children.

When asked if he planned to expand his family once again, he told The Netmums podcast: “I’m pretty sure that this is it, we can’t go there again which is really sad. We love kids, we love the baby stage, and the toddler stage, and the baby stage goes by really fast, so it is a little bit sad but I think this will be it.

“Fostering is something that me and Stacey have talked about and would love to do. We’d love to foster, we’d love to give something back, you know?

“It is something that we definitely want to do, when our kids get old enough that they’re not as reliant on us,” he explained.

The former EastEnders actor’s openness to fostering is inspired by his mother Kiffy, who has been a foster carer for the last 15 years.

“My mum sort of knew she had so much more to give and so much more love to give,” he gushed.

“And there are so many kids out there that really need that love and support. So, we were really behind my mum.

“We are super proud of what she’s done and what she’s achieved. She’s an incredible, strong independent woman. We’re super proud of her.”

In the meantime, actor-turned-TV presenter Joe and Loose Women star Stacey have their hands full with their blended family.

They have three-year-old Rex, Rose, one, and Belle, four months, together.

Stacey is also mum to Zachary, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships, while Joe shares 15-year-old son Harry with his former partner.

Joe’s interview comes after Stacey admitted that the pair are currently taking “every precaution possible” to avoid having another baby.

In a recent Instagram story, the TV presenter said: “We were kissing yesterday and the boys were like ‘urgh, you disgust me’.

“Oh, but don’t worry. Loads of you messaging me saying ‘is this baby number six?’.

“Don’t worry. We’re taking every precaution possible to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

The couple recently enjoyed a child-free mini break in the Austrian city of Salzburg for a pal’s wedding.

Stacey joked on the plane that Joe was “trying to get me drunk” and revealed that she hadn’t been inebriated since she met Joe in 2010, “so I thought ‘maybe I will, I’ve got no kids, maybe I’ll just pour myself a drink’.”
