Stacey Solomon ‘nervous’ about son’s new school as she worries other mums ‘don’t like’ her

Stacey Solomon took to Instagram on Thursday to share her emotion as her middle son Leighton prepares to head to a secondary school after the summer holidays.

The mum-of-five, 33, admitted that she was feeling 'nervous' for the youngster as none of his friends from primary school are heading to the same one – while noting her own nerves too as she feels apprehensive about making new friends.

"It took me a really long time to find school mums that like me," laughed the TV personality while candidly updating her 5.7M Instagram followers. Stacey shares 11-year-old Leighton with ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham, after welcoming eldest Zachary, 15, with childhood sweetheart Dean Cox.

She is also mum to Rex, four, Rose, 20 months, and four-month-old Belle – sharing the three youngest with her husband Joe Swash.

Explaining her fears for Leighton to finish off primary school, Stacey said: "It's starting to feel emotional now because it's nearly summer and then that's it, none of Leighton's friends are going to the school that he's going to.

"I just feel really nervous for him but hopefully they'll all stay in touch, I really hope so because I like the mums too. It took me a really long time to find mums that like me. But Rex is going to Leighton's school and some of their siblings are going there as well so hopefully I'll still see them."

Marking the end of primary school, Leighton recently headed on a school leavers trip – leaving Stacey feeling emotional as she dropped the pre-teen off.

Stacey and her husband Joe, who was formerly an actor on EastEnders, tied the knot in July in a magical woodland ceremony that took place in the grounds of their £1.3million home in Essex.

The star has dubbed the home Pickle Cottage, but recently hit back at mum-shamers after she received backlash for showing her followers her wild overgrown back garden.

Sharing a picture as she held her youngest child Belle in her arms while her daughter Rose, one, walked around, Stacey was hit with followers warning her not to go near hogweed or certain plants with the girls.

Responding, she said to Instagram: "I don't think I've ever seen giant hogweed. Yeah, don't panic. I'm not going to take my children into poisonous woods. There's a couple of nettles, I was like, 'watch out girls'.

"Other than that, there's some wildflowers and weeds."
