‘I’m trying to keep my head above water’: Stacey Solomon reveals stress of solo parenting as husband Joe Swash leaves home for big job

Stacey Solomon has admitted she’s ‘trying to keep her head above water’ while solo parenting without her husband Joe Swash for two weeks.

The Loose Women star, 32, took to her Instagram Stories to make the candid admission, following her beau travelling to film CBBC’s The Dengineers, leaving her to care for their four children on her own.   

Stacey cradled her baby daughter Rose, ten months, in the clip as she revealed she was trying to make it ‘all work’ without her husband.

She told her followers: ‘It’s been an interesting week. Joe’s gone away for two weeks so I’ve been trying to get into the swing of it all around work without him.’ 

Before penitently adding: ‘It’s just us at the minute so I am just trying to keep my head above the water.’

Stacey shares daughter Rose and two-year-old son Rex with her husband, as well as Zach, 14, and Leighton, 10, from her previous relationships. 

Going it alone: She told her followers: ‘It’s been an interesting week. Joe’s gone away for two weeks so I’ve been trying to get into the swing of it all around work without him’

Snowed under: She went on to say that she was snowed under as her son Leighton was reaching his final year of primary school

She went on to say that she was snowed under as her son Leighton was reaching his final year of primary school. 

Planning his secondary education she said:  ‘This week I had to book all of his open day appointments, applications, and do walk arounds’.

‘One school I had to sit in and queue at a certain time and try to book a slot to go and see it before slots ran out’. Before joking ‘I felt like I was booking Coachella or something’.

Joe is away filming CBBC’s The Dengineers after replacing it’s previous host Joe Tracini. 

The former EastEnders actor will join existing host Meryl Fernandes fronting the children’s TV show when it returns to screens for its seventh series.

The Dengineers sees a production team design impressive themed dens or play houses for a group of lucky children.

Away from home: Joe is away filming CBBC’s The Dengineers making it his first presenting gig since tying the knot with Stacey earlier this year

The upcoming series will kick off with a Strictly Come Dancing themed den for a super-fan of the BBC dancing competition.

The series will see other intricate creations including both a Shakespeare and rollercoaster den, as well as a crochet and orangutan dens.

A description of the programme explains that ‘the Dengineers have been spending the Summer making kids’ dreams come true by surprising them with their very own dens’.

The release date for the upcoming CBBC series has not yet been confirmed.
