Stars share childhood snaps for Princess of Wales' campaign

Stars share throwback snaps from childhood as part of the Princess of Wales’ Shaping Us campaign – but can you guess who is who?

The stars shared an array of childhood photos to social media on Saturday in support of the Princess of Wales’ early years campaign. 

From fashion designers, footballers, TV presenters and chefs, throwback images were shared to respective Instagram accounts – but can you guess who it is? 

It comes in response to Kate’s new early childhood campaign which aims to ‘give generations of children the best start in life.’

The first celebrity is best known for being a member of a very popular 1990s girlband who became icons of the decade. 

She went on to launch a solo career, before signing her first deal with a fashion brand in 2003 and then taking the plunge into designing her own line.

That’s right! It’s Victoria Beckham, who rose to fame as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls and is now internationally recognised as a fashion icon. 

In her childhood photo, the designer could be seen wearing an adorable blue and white knitted poncho. 

Her brunette hair was pulled up into a cute bun on top of her head as she crouched down beside a doll in a toy pram.

Victoria penned: ‘I was three years old in this picture and already experimenting with fashion!

‘Our early childhood years are so important to shaping the rest of our lives. That’s why I’m supporting The Princess Of Wales in supporting #shapingus and @earlychildhood.’

She concluded: ‘Join me in posting your favourite childhood photo with The Princess Of Wales and early Childhood.’

Next up, this former professional footballer rose to fame with Manchester United, where he made his debut at just aged 17.

He went on to play internationally for his home team as well as Real Madrid, he now owns his own club and is one of the world’s most recognisable players.

The sportsman now co-owns both Salford City and Inter Miami CF, for which his son Romeo plays on their reserve team.

She has enjoyed a long TV career and has since gone on to host her own podcast and author eight books.  

You’ve got it! It’s Fearne Cotton. Known for her work on Top Of The Pops and CBBC, she now hosts Happy Place and works on self-help books. 

Alongside the photo, she penned: ‘This is me, around four years old. Possibly the age I started to cultivate my own style and love of clothes and definitely the age I started to get super passionate about art and creativity.’

For our fourth celebrity, this person is well known for demonstrating relaxed, speedy meals on this various cooking TV shows.

Staring off his career as a pastry chef, he has since opened a string of restaurants and released many cook books. 

That’s right, it’s Jamie Oliver! Best known for his 1990 TV show The Naked Chef, that worked to encourage other men to take up cooking. 

Alongside the throwback, Jamie wrote: ‘I was 5 years old here. Check out how happy I look in my brown cords, trackie top and strap-on roller skates! 

‘I feel so lucky I had a great childhood, growing up in my mum and dad’s pub. Not only did it give me a thirst for food knowledge, and a passion for pursuing that as a career, it taught me about people and community.’

She is known for her West End performances and starring in ITV series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

That’s it, it’s Giovanna Fletcher. CBeebies presenter and known for her guest appearances on Loose Women and Lorraine. 

She married McFly guitarist Tom Fletcher in 2012, the couple share three children, Buzz, Buddy and Max. 

Giovanna captioned: ‘Me as a 1 year old. In fact, this was taken on my first birthday – hence the plate of homemade cupcakes in front of me. Looking at the other photos of this day I was surrounded by laughter and food.’

Speaking on her campaign alongside a childhood photo of herself, The Princess Of Wales explained: ‘”Faces are a baby’s best toy.” On Tuesday we launched to raise awareness of the vital role our early years play in shaping the rest of our lives.

‘This weekend, we’d love for you all to spend time with your friends, families, colleagues and communities talking about your early childhoods and how they’ve shaped your lives.

‘I hope you’ll also consider joining me in sharing a picture of yourselves before your fifth birthday to help with those conversations and to share some smiles and memories too.’
