Tasha Ghouri couples up with eBay to become first 2022 Islander to officially land fashion deal

Love Island's Tasha Ghouri has landed a deal with eBay – making her the first 2022 islander to officially put pen to paper on game-changing fashion partnership.

It was announced today that the star, who celebrated her 24th birthday this week, has become the first 2022 islander to officially sign with a brand partnership with the site.

Tasha is eBay’s first ever ‘Pre-Loved Ambassador’ and has coupled up with the online marketplace to encourage buyers to change the way they shop for clothes.

Love Island championed sustainability this year as eBay provided the islanders with ever-so stylish pre-loved outfits for the first time, and the move certainly went down well with viewers.

Tasha's pre-loved looks became sought after by fans, and sharing her excitement at the "dream come true” partnership, she wrote on Instagram: "Prior to going into Love Island I have always purchased secondhand for my wardrobe, so partnering with eBay really is a dream come true.

“I feel really passionately that we can all make little swaps to our wardrobes and our lives for the better and so I’m excited to join eBay on their mission to put secondhand fashion front and centre.

"Plus I’d like to think that over the last 8 weeks I have shown that pre-loved serves up amazing looks while bringing out my personality!”

Tasha’s amazing sense of style on Love Island immediately caught the attention of eBay’s show stylist, Amy Bannerman.

She said: “Mixing high street with high fashion, from vintage Versace to glamorous micro dresses, blending the idea of gendered dressing with oversized men’s bomber jackets and stunning in looks that wouldn’t be out of place on the runway, not only did she capture hearts but turned heads with her effortless sense of style.”

Jemma Tadd, eBay’s Head of Fashion, said of the partnership: “Over the past 8 weeks, we’ve seen Islander’s embrace pre-loved for the first time ever on mainstream TV, showing that simple additions or swaps to outfits can make all the difference – in so many ways.

“Tasha has been a game-changer and her eye for style is undeniable. She is a fantastic role model for what fashion of the future looks like and we look forward to bringing Tasha’s vision and style to life as our partnership continues.”

This news comes after Love Island fans had been speculating who would be the first of the contestants to land a major fashion deal.

Series runner-up Gemma Owen has had multiple offers, according to reports, with fast fashion brands including Boohoo vying to sign the star.
