The Chase’s Jenny Ryan branded ‘fabulous’ as she ditches glasses in Christmas makeover

The Chase favourite Jenny Ryan wowed audiences with her Celebrity Christmas Special makeover on Boxing Day.

Going glasses-less and dolling up her hair, the 40 year old redhead strolled out in front of host Bradley Walsh and contestants Vicki Michelle, Bradley Wiggins, Radzi Chinyanganya and Kadeena Cox to booming cheers.

"And you are?" joked Brad, 62, which got a laugh from Jenny herself. "You look so different without your glasses! You look great!"

The quiz maestro's glamour didn't go unnoticed over on social media either, as a pair of fans wrote: "Jenny’s scrubbed up well" and "Wow Jenny looks stunning".

"Jenny looking fabulous", "Loving Jenny without her glasses", "The Chasers all look fab, but Jenny in green. Also love her hair up like that," added another trio.

Over the festive period, Jenny isn't the only Chaser to have shown off an eye-catching change, as Mark 'The Beast' Labbett's 10-stone weight loss was pictured behind-the-scenes at Northwich Theatre's Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime, in which he plays the villain Fleshcreep.

"Just got to say this you look absolutely amazing. Way to go with losing so much weight. Have a fabulous Christmas," commented one of his followers, before another added: "Almost didn’t recognise you, really smashed the weight loss."

Meanwhile, earlier this year, long-serving face of The Chase, Brad, regaled Capital Breakfast's Sonny Jay and Roman Kemp with the tale of how he came to land the gig all the way back in 2009.

"I've gotta fess up," he began, "when we first did the job, the only two choices that were first there were actually The Beast and The Dark Destroyer [Shaun Wallace], right? And we were doing an office run-through, and this is to get the job up and running. And I said 'This is ludicrous. these questions are so easy.'

"And they said: 'What, do you think you could beat the Chaser?' I said: 'If I beat the Chaser, we'll make a series, let's do that.'

"And this is absolutely true – what they didn't realise was the sheets with the questions and the answers on were lying face down on my end of the desk, I could see the print through and I could read the answers backwards and I read them," he admitted.

"So every time they come to the head-to-head as if they were at the table, I’d smash both of them. And as I walked away, I took the piece of paper and put it on the the other table so no one saw it. So I'd actually cheated."
