Whoopi Goldberg accused one of her co-hosts on The View of trying to ‘overshadow’ her during Wednesday’s broadcast.
Just one day after she walked off set of the ABC program, the 67-year-old star called out Joy Behar when she suffered a technical blunder just moments into the broadcast.
Goldberg kicked off the show by discussing Ron DeSantis’s recent interview with Jake Tapper and was keen to hear what Joy, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin thought of it.
However, as she began the conversation, a ringtone could be heard and Goldberg stopped mid flow to ask Behar: ‘Did your phone really just ring?’
Clearly feeling a bit embarrassed, Behar lied: ‘It did not!’ before telling Whoopi: ‘Ignore it!’

‘Well, it’s hard, it’s hard!’ Whoopi fired back, before continuing the segment and saying: ‘Kinda like I was just overshadowed by her phone, Rob DeSantis was overshadowed by you know who’s latest potential indictment…’
Behar clearly saw the funny side of her dig and giggled before the show cut to a clip of DeSantis’s interview.
During the interview, Tapper asked DeSantis point blank if Donald Trump ‘should be held accountable’ if there is evidence of criminality, to which DeSantis responded: ‘I hope he doesn’t get charged.’
When it cut back to the panel, the lead panelist was keen to share her thoughts on DeSantis’s words.
‘What’s interesting about very many of these people who you’ve sort of talked about not even saying or admitting that anything wrong was done – it’s because they want to do the same thing,’ she claimed.
‘DeSantis wants the same kind of country. I believe that he wants to also be a dictator. I believe many of these folks who are defending this think this is an interesting prospect.’
Behar’s on air gaffe certainly didn’t go unnoticed by viewers tuning in at home as one person tweeted: ‘@ABC Why don’t they require the hosts to leave their phones backstage? Is it really that hard? They are working for less than an hour.’
This isn’t the first time this week that Goldberg has been involved in some on-air drama.

During Tuesday’s episode of the show, the Ghost actress walked off set following a heated debate over the viral video of Miranda Lambert slamming fans at a recent concert.
Lambert, 39, threw a fit on Sunday when members of her audience posed for selfies while she performed on stage. The country music singer said it ‘p*****’ her off and she stopped the show.
After showing the entire clip, 54-year-old Hostin confirmed how much some fans had paid for tickets and took the side of the concertgoers, saying that she was ‘going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets. I’m sorry, just me!’
Goldberg disagreed and used Hostin’s point against her in taking the side of the country superstar.
‘You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come,’ Goldberg said before walking away moments later.
Hostin responded by saying she typically takes pictures at concerts in order to preserve memories.
‘Maybe I wanna play it again,’ she said. ‘Maybe I want the picture and I want the music in the background.’
Sudden exit: Whoopi stormed off set during Tuesday’s episode of The View
Goldberg then got fed up and left her seat, telling Hostin to ‘turn on the television, girl’ before walking away to the shock of the remaining cast.
‘I’m leaving y’all!’ she exclaimed when her fellow hosts asked where the Sister Act star was going.
She then, in a cheeky attempt to prove her point, walked toward a woman in the audience and said, ‘I want to take a picture with this marvelous woman, who is 91.’
‘So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Will you push that button?’ she asked, before taking the show into a commercial break.
