‘The Vince Staples Show’ Coming To Netflix

“The Vince Staples Show,” a scripted comedy series loosely based on the life of rapper and singer Vince Staples is coming to Netflix.

Staples is teaming with Kenya Barris for the show, in which he will also star. “The Vince Staples Show” is set in his hometown of Long Beach, California.

Staples will executive produce the series alongside Barris, Ian Edelman, Maurice Williams, Corey Smyth, and Calmatic, with Edelman and Williams also acting as showrunners.

“I am excited to partner with Netflix and Kenya Barris on The Vince Staples Show,” Staples shared in a statement with Variety.
“This has been something I have been developing for some time and I am happy it’s coming to fruition.”

“It’s our mission to work with the best artists in the world,” Tracey Pakosta, Netflix‘s head of comedy, shared in a statement with Variety. “Vince has already established himself as one of the most talented young musicians today and we’re really excited about how his sensibility—and sense of humor—will translate into a unique comedy series.”
