If you thought the first three episodes of Harry and Meghan were damaging for the royal family, the next three take things up a gear.
That’s the view of Daily Mail Diary Editor, Richard Eden, who describes the show as ‘a full on attack’ and a ‘hard watch’.
Appearing on the latest episode of Palace Confidential, Richard explained that despite the Sussexes’ desire for privacy, the couple discuss lots of personal events that the rest of the royals might be unhappy about.
‘You imagine when you’re making those intimate dealings with your family public like this, I’d be horrified if that was my own family,’ he said.
In the latest episodes of Harry & Meghan, the Netflix docu-series from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Harry claims that his brother Prince William screamed and shouted at him
Meanwhile the Mail on Sunday’s Assistant Editor Kate Mansey believes that despite the length of the series, it didn’t get to the heart of the reasons behind Megxit.
‘I’m still baffled as to why they left,’ she explained. ‘It’s so so vague. There’s no moment for me in any of these six hours where you go, my gosh, that was it.’
She also adds that despite Harry’s insinuation that the so-called ‘men in grey suits’ were stopping him from meeting the Queen, Her Majesty was fully in control of what she did.
‘If the Queen wanted to see Prince Harry, the Queen would have seen Prince Harry,’ she said.

Within the docu-series , Harry and Meghan also made claims that members of the royal family were jealous of Meghan’s popularity
‘[She] was very much aware of what she was doing and I think, quite wisely, decided it wasn’t the best thing to meet with them.’
Richard added that ‘this idea that Prince William and Catharine are jealous of them just doesn’t ring true to me at all.’
He explained that ‘Prince William has never really enjoyed being in the limelight he’s never wanted to have all that on him and Catharine, and so the idea that they had someone new, who could share that burden, who could take some of the attention, I think they loved that. I think it’s the opposite.’
During the Netflix docu-series, Harry said his family were upset and jealous of Meghan’s popularity so pursued a vendetta against her because she was ‘doing the job better’ and ‘stealing the limelight’ from ‘those born to do it’.

The couple used the example of Meghan appearing on the front of page The Telegraph after the Remembrance Sunday commemorations, and said they felt embarrassed, and like they needed to apologise.
Later in the series Harry told of the ‘heartbreaking’ rift with his brother who he claimed had scared him in January 2020 while he ‘screamed and shouted’ at him in front of his father and grandmother when he tried to thrash out a deal to leave the UK.
The Duke of Sussex said: ‘They were happy to lie to protect my brother and yet they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us’.
The Duke of Sussex said William and Charles refused to bless the couple’s request for a ‘half in half out’ Megxit that would allow them to earn a fortune while picking and choosing royal duties and keeping all their titles.

He alleged his older brother, now heir to the throne, scared him in January 2020 while he ‘screamed and shouted’ at him in front of his father and grandmother when he tried to thrash out a deal to leave the UK.
Harry also accused Charles of telling untruths to his face, and Her Majesty of saying nothing at the now infamous ‘Sandringham Summit’.
He said: ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that just simply weren’t true. And my grandmother, you know, quietly sit there and take it all in.’
The royal family have refused to comment on Harry’s claims that William ‘screamed’ and Charles lied during Sandringham talks while Queen ‘sat and watched.’
The Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English said that while Prince William will never close the door on his brother, things will probably never be the same between them
During this week’s episode of Palace Confidential the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English delved into what she had discovered about the brother’s relationship.
She said: ‘William, like his father, King Charles refuses to watch this documentary so far, or indeed criticise Harry publicly.
‘But I understand that privately he is very angry and deeply hurt at his brother’s actions.
‘Particularly at what he perceives is the disrespect that Harry showed their grandmother the Queen while she was still alive.’

Rebecca explained that Harry and Meghan negotiated and ‘took the paycheck’, while the Queen was still alive.
She said that we can presume ‘Harry fully expected for this grandmother to be alive when the documentary aired.’
Rebecca said that while William will never close the door on his brother, even if they can establish a dialogue again, things will never be the same.
The Palace has said it won’t be commenting on the Netflix docu-series.
