Boots’ teeth whitening strips that ‘remove coffee stains’ slashed to £10 in today’s sale
Each week Boots launches its £10 Tuesday sale, which sees the beauty retailer slash the prices of some of its best selling items to just £10.
This week, one item in the sale that’s received rave reviews from shoppers is the Boots Expert Dissolvable Teeth Whitening Strips, £10 here (was £18), which help give you a brighter, white smile in one easy step.
According to an independent test on 50 volunteers, the pack of 56 dissolvable whitening strips lightens teeth by up to five shades, and leaves you with noticeably whiter teeth after just two weeks.
Unlike other teeth whitening products, the strips are hydrogen peroxide free and don’t require preparing any messy gels or liquids to use; you just need to apply the strip to your teeth and leave it to dissolve, meaning you can easily use them on the go, too.
The strips begin working immediately to remove stubborn stains caused by things like tea, coffee and red wine, and take just 10-15 minutes to completely dissolve on your teeth.
To use them, simply moistened your teeth and gums with your tongue, then apply the strip to your top teeth by lining the edge up with your gums and pressing it onto your teeth. Tuck any excess behind your teeth, and cover with your lip, then repeat the process with your bottom teeth. Boots recommends using the strips twice a day for 14 days to get maximum results.
The whitening strips will only work on natural teeth, so if you have veneers, dentures or fillings they won’t be affected by the strips, and it’s not recommended to use them if you suffer from gum problems or within 2 weeks of dental treatment such as crowns, fillings, or implants, or while wearing dental braces.
The strips have plenty of happy reviewers who have found the strips made a noticeable difference to their teeth. One person wrote: “I don't usually leave reviews – Bought to hide dentine marks on teeth. After 3 days noticed the strips had disguised the marks. Not a celebrity white smile but good for covering mild marks/stains on the teeth, it did exactly what wanted it to do.”
Another said: “I was shocked by how much they whitened it’s not the level you’d get from the dentist but for the cost they are really good”.
Some reviewers did admit they found the product fiddly to use, calling them a “hassle” as it “starts dissolving immediately upon contact with fingers and teeth”, whilst others agreed the packaging was hard to open and the strips themselves were fiddly to apply.
However, others said they had seen a noticeable difference, particularly on stained teeth: “I brought these 3-4 weeks ago now and I use them 3 times a week and since the first time using them they have worked great and my teeth have became whiter. I drink tea and coffee and these strips have even removed them tough stains.”
The Boots £10 Tuesdays offer expires at midnight, and contains plenty of other bargain items, including the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream For Dark Circles, Wrinkles & Puffiness, £10 here (was £24.99), which helps hide under eye shadows and dark circles, whilst also working as an anti-ageing cream to leave eyes looking more youthful.
It’s also the perfect time to stock up on SPF, with the Avène Intense Protect 50+ Sun Cream for Very Sensitive Skin, £10 here (was £21 .85), also included in the £10 offer. The SPF has been specifically designed for the needs of the most sensitive vulnerable skin, including babies, pregnant women, injured skin – such as scarring – and tattooed skin.
