Picking out a wedding dress is an emotional experience for many brides – but Devan Williamson had more reason than most to fight back tears during her appointment.

While trying on gowns at Lia Bella Bridal Salon in Fort Myers, Florida, earlier this year, the newlywed, 26, was surprised by her mother Diana – who travelled over 700 miles just to be there for her daughter.

Co-ordinating with one of Devan’s closest friends, Diana waited until her daughter was in the changing room before sneaking into the shop.

Aware that it would be an emotional moment for the bride to see her there, Diana also asked for Devan’s nearest and dearest to film their reunion.

In a clip that’s racked up over 10 million views on TikTok, Devan, an account manager from Cape Cod, is seen walking out of the changing area in a stunning V-neck strappy gown with a lace bodice.

Smiling at her reflection in the mirror, the bride’s face then drops as she spots her mother sitting on the sofa opposite.

Unable to hide her total joy, Devan shouted: ‘Mommy!’

Diana – who lives 700 miles away from her daughter in Rutherfordton, North Carolina – then rushed towards her daughter with her arms outstretched.

The clip ends with the bride fighting back tears as the two share an emotional hug.

After getting engaged in July, Devan and her fiance tied the knot last month near their home in Florida.

Diana – who works as a respiratory therapist and teacher – flew over 700 miles to help her daughter pick out her dress.

Thrilled to have it forever captured on video, Devan captioned her viral clip: ‘The best surprise for a special moment.’

Unsurprisingly, the video struck a chord with viewers too – with some saying it even reduced them to tears.
