The weather might be a little grey and dreary but that wasn’t enough to prevent racegoers from pulling out all the stops for the second day of the Cheltenham Festival.
Racegoers sipped on champagne and pints as they celebrated their wins with friends old and new.
And many racegoers were quick to get into the spirit of the event as the races kicked off, throwing their arms into the air as their bets were a success.
The historic society event, which dates back to the early 19th century, has unveiled a new ‘inclusive’ dress code this year, which organisers hope will make spectators feel ‘confident and at-ease’ for their visit.
But despite dresses, heels and hats no longer being mandatory, glamourous guests still opted to pull out all the fashion stops for the annual event.

Meanwhile, Love Island’s Chris Hughes looked suitably smart in a three-piece suit – complete with a tweed waistcoat.
Already much more relaxed than its racing peer Royal Ascot, Cheltenham organisers are hoping to encourage a younger crowd to the society event, with jeans and trainers no longer looked down upon, and ‘come dressed to feel your best’ guidance in place.
Although the Jockey Club is not forcing guests to stick to a dress code, their website states ‘inappropriate or offensive’ fancy dress will result in racegoers being banned entry.
