DIY couple astonished when they find ‘unearthed treasure’ hiding under wallpaper

A couple who recently moved into a new home and started their renovation project were stunned by what they found hiding under the wallpaper in one room.

Carly and her partner wanted to remove the boring dusty purple-coloured wallpaper and give the rooms a fresh lick of paint.

But little did they know, there was something exciting hiding underneath the dull decor.

Carly posted on TikTok over the weekend and said: "We moved to our new house on March 16.

"We have been waiting to find a house since September when our landlord decided to sell.

"I can't wait to start making this house a home.

"We started on the first room to find out all the wallpaper there was …we could not believe what we were seeing."

When Carly started peeling the wallpapers off, she quickly noticed a brighter yellow base and some colourful drawings.

She realised that the drawings were Disney characters from iconic movies like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

On the other side were four Star Wars characters by the window as well.

Viewers quickly jumped to the comments section and shared their thoughts.

One said: "This is a 90s bedroom if ever I've seen one."

"It's beautiful, will you be keeping that?" a second asked Carly. "It's like an unearthed treasure!"

A third wondered: "Okay, but how did they know Star Wars was gonna be on Disney?"

Others looked into details and commented on the drawings.

"I love it but why do the princesses have man jaw lines and Belle looks disgusted with the beast," a TikToker expressed and another added: "Is that a white Mowgli?"

Carly told viewers that she loved the surprises but sadly she won't be keeping them.

She explained: "I wish I could but it's all painted on top of woodchip, my little girl would hurt herself."
