Emily Ratajkowski swaps her brunette hair colour for a deep copper shade
Long-time brunette Emily Ratajkowski is out to prove this week that she can work just about any hair colour. The model has just posted a series of Instagram snaps where her hair looks visibly different thanks to a bold copper tone. And though the Bridgerton red trend peaked last summer, we wonder if her transformation is about to re-ignite copper colours.
Posing with her fresh hue, Emily captions the carousel of selfies: "Gone red. Thank you @kerastase_official for keeping my hair healthy with Chroma Absolu, and to the legend @jennaperryhair."
It's no surprise that Emily is dishing out praise on Kérastase. The model has been an ambassador for the brand since 2018 when she kicked off her partnership with an Aura Botanica collection.
This range, however, is for colour-treated hair – hence, we imagine, why Emily has added a pop of colour to her brunette hair. If, like the model, you're keen to keep your colour vibrant and your strands looking shiny and damage-free, you can shop the new range from £27.15 here.
If you're also wondering whether or not copper is the shade for you, we have the professional advice you need to make an informed decision here…
"When it comes to getting this colour in the salon, toning plays a huge role in helping to achieve an intense copper shade while also adding that reflective shine," explains Suzie McGill, artistic director at Rainbow Room International.
"The beauty of red is that it suits all skin tones, and the copper hue can be adjusted for you to not only suit your skin tone but also to suit your lifestyle and personality. The shade can be as bold or as subtle as you like. For those with blonde or light brown hair, this colour is super easy to achieve, however, those with darker hair may need to have their hair pre-lightened to make the colour pop."
This look is Emily's biggest hair change since 2020 when she surprised us all by going blonde – for real. The Kérastase ambassador switched up her look for a few months while she was promoting the brand's Blond Absolu collection. Now that a new range is out, it seems a copper was called for.
We wonder what range and shade we'll see next!
