BRITAIN'S richest Flat race of the season takes place this Saturday as Epsom plays host to the 2023 Derby.

It's the fourth classic of the year, with 130,000 racegoers set to pack out the grandstands across the two-day festival, with the Oaks just 24 hours earlier.

A strong field of three-year-old colts and fillies will line up at the mile-and-a-half start to compete for the £850,000 prize.

Who has the best odds of winning the Epsom Derby 2023?

The bookies could well look to take Auguste Rodin on in this one, given his 2000 Guineas run.

He'd done very little running before that race, when going off 13/8 favourite before being beaten by 22 lengths.

The Aidan O'Brien runner is clearly one to be wary of, though, given his trainer's record in this race,

But having been supplemented in this race to the tune of a whopping £85,000 to connections, Passenger looks to have a great chance in this one.

He was an unlucky loser in the Dante where he had an incredible amount of interference. Once in the clear, Richard Kingscote hardly applied the pressure yet still ran on for a dead heat in third.

Trainer Sir Michael Stoute won this race last year with Desert Crown and at 11/2 with William Hill, Passenger can make it back-to-back wins for the maestro.

Which bookies offer the best odds guaranteed for Epsom?

Many of the top bookmakers will offer best odds guaranteed for the race, though that is likely to come on race day itself.

Always check if they offer this promotion as it could pay favourably if your selection was to drift to bigger odds yet still win.

Though with bet365's price promise, they promise to beat many of the industry leaders for their pay out price on races screened on ITV Racing, on bets placed after 10am.

That means you'll get the best odds with them between that time in the morning and 15 minutes before post time!

Betting Tips for Epsom

It's Franke Dettori's last Epsom festival before hanging up his whip later this year and he can get on the board early on day one (Friday) aboard EMILY UPJOHN (5-2) in the Coronation Cup.

John Gosden won the Grade One with Dettori on board Cracksman in 2018 and the pair could link up here, despite the horse not having had a run since winning on Qipco British Champions Day last October.

That's the third race on day one, with race five the Oaks and that will likely provide Aidan O'Brien with a winner in SAVETHELASTDANCE (5-4).

The Irish maestro has won the last three renewals of this race – and six of the last eight – and sends the hot favourite here after an astonishing 22 lengths win in the Cheshire Oaks earlier in May.

Onto day two and it could pay to back HIGHLAND AVENUE (7-4) in the first to boost that bet bank balance for what is to come.

Godolphin's win rate isn't great coming into this but his 11/1 third to Adayar – beaten three lengths – is a decent piece of form, given he was just run out of second place.

Onto the big one and WAIPIRO (20-1) is a very good each-way bet for Ed Walker and Tom Marquand.

He finished just a length behind Military Order (4-1 second fav) in a Derby trial at Lingfield, with the front pair miles clear and giving him a proper race.

Walker himself admitted he wouldn't put anyone off backing his charge at an each-way price.
