John Krasinski’s first big real estate purchase occurred in 2006 when he bought a West Hollywood house for $1 million. The Country English-style starter home was shielded from prying neighbors through a gated community. Two years later, he began dating actress Emily Blunt, and the couple got engaged within a year. Krasinski put his bachelor pad on sale for $1.2 million, and the couple decided to live in the same neighborhood and bought a stunning West Hollywood home for $1.59 million in 2009. Before the birth of their second daughter, the couple decided to move to New York to raise their family in Brooklyn and put the property on sale in 2017. The house was sold to Kendall Jenner within a few months for $6.5 million.

A stunning home that is located in the prime location of Los Angeles and offers stunning views, the West Hollywood mansion is a private getaway property that offers seclusion and peace along with a string of famous neighbors. Let’s take a look inside the $6.5 million home.

A Stunning Oasis

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt began house hunting shortly after they got engaged and decided to buy a cozy home where they could raise their family. They purchased the dreamy home in 2009 for $1.59 million and lived at the property for more than eight years. After expecting their second daughter in 2016, they decided to move out of the world of Hollywood to offer seclusion from that life for their young family. Planning to make a hefty profit, Krasinski and Blunt put the house on sale for a whopping $8 million in January 2016, as stated by the LA Times. Through a considerable price cut of $1.5 million and negotiations, Kendall Jenner bought the property in August for $6.5 million.

Perched above the iconic Chateau Mormont hotel and the Sunset strip, the West Hollywood mansion offers panoramic views of LA. From the exterior of the home, it features sliders and large windows that offer ample daylight. There is a large terrace with a private seating area outdoors to relax. Built with a long driveway, the home is often invisible from the street due to its seclusion from the remainder of the neighborhood, as noted by Mansion Global.

Offering Enviable Views Of LA

Spanning 4,500 square feet of living space, the Hollywood Hills home has six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The contemporary space has three floors, each occupied with spacious rooms. The entrance is met with an expansive living that features a brick fireplace while the glass doors disappear into the wall to offer a combination of indoor-outdoor living. The living room shares a wall with the dining room located by the kitchen. As mentioned by Today, the modern kitchen is a chef’s dream, equipped with high-end appliances and a kitchen island.

The Master Bedroom is shrouded with trees through the glass walls to offer optimum privacy to the owner. The spa-like Master Bath has a soaking tub overlooking a glass wall and dual vanity. The spacious walk-in closet has a center island and ample space to store clothing. One of the rooms in the home serves as a fitness room with a massage table. The additional seating rooms and a media room have large floor-to-ceiling windows to shed ample lighting inside.

An Exclusive Neighborhood

A den is situated on the top floor of the residence and has a wall of windows to stare at the scenic views. The rooftop terrace has multiple seating areas and an al-fresco dining table that offers sweeping views of LA. According to The Sun, the outdoors offers plenty of flora, a swimming pool, and an outdoor patio designed by Krasinski. The home is built with a stunning structure and has white exposed brick walls and hardwood floors in every inch of the property. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt remodeled this home three years after purchasing, but Jenner reportedly had minor changes done and maintained the same décor as the couple.

The exclusive neighborhood is a celebrity hotspot as multiple A-Listers have their residence in the Hollywood Hills West location. Most notable celebrity neighbors include Jimmy Kimmel, Sandra Bullock, Dakota Johnson, and Cameron Diaz. Jenner, who moved into the property in August 2017, put it back on sale after fourteen months after experiencing a stalker problem. Jenner didn’t sell the property but purchased another at Mulholland Estates for $8.5 million.

A perfect home for a family or as a bachelor pad, the West Hollywood mansion has had famous personalities taking residence in the must-have location. Not only does the property offer a cozy interior and privacy, but it also offers breathtaking views of Los Angeles while maintaining its seclusion from the city.
