Gemma Collins’ ‘spiritual’ trip to Bethlehem with beau Rami as she breaks down in tears

Gemma Collins said she was ‘totally blown away’ when she visited the spot where baby Jesus is said to have been born.

The GC was whisked away on a trip to Israel by her fiancé Rami Hawash for the new year.

Sharing the exciting news, the 39-year-old told her BBC Sounds Podcast: “He wants to take me to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. He’s from Isreal and I’ve always wanted to go.

“I haven’t seen Rami’s family for nearly 10 years. It’s going to be really nice. Now I’m getting older, I like to be a bit of a tourist. I would love to see Bethlehem. I’m really excited, so that’s my Christmas present.”

Gemma shared photographs from her trip with her 2.2million followers on Instagram.

On her stories she appeared to break down in tears as she shared the ‘most breathtaking, unreal experience’ of her life.

She said: “Guys, I’m in the church in Bethlehem. I’ve got tears rolling down my face, this is the most breathtaking, unreal, experience in my life and the feeling…you cannot describe it.

“I’m just so overwhelmed with emotion, I hope everyone gets to experience this once in their life.”

She flipped the camera, giving a glimpse inside the historic church which has been adorned with gold paintings on the walls and lanterns hanging from the ceiling.

She panned across the church, showing a large crowd gathering to see the exact spot where ‘Jesus was born’.

She added: “The feeling here makes my hair stand on its end…it’s just, I’m breathless. It’s just so beautiful.”

Before leaving, she purchased a bunch of gold candles before lighting them at a vigil next to a statue of Jesus as a baby.

She also shared a selfie of her and Rami next to a sign outside the ‘Church of The Nativity’, saying it was ‘best present ever’.

The reality-TV star also showed her kneeling on the ground touching the spot which is marked with a silver sun-shaped plaque.

She said: “I can’t believe I’ve been so unbelievably lucky to have been where baby Jesus was born and touch the spot. I am totally blown away and looking forward to my spiritual journeys in 2023. The feeling of this was like nothing I’ve ever felt before I can’t even describe what I felt in that moment.”

Her fans raced to the comments to welcome her to Isreal, with one saying: “Welcome here Gemma, the most beautiful country in the world.”

Another added: “I went there when I was younger and I’d love to be able to visit again.”

A third said she’d made the trip of a lifetime, adding: “Gem, this is one on my bucket list!”
