Gen Z is mocked for claiming to invent SMILING: Bizarre new TikTok trend sees thousands raise their eyebrows and turn up their mouth to ‘inspire obsession’ from men

  • Influencers are claiming to use ‘siren gaze’ to seduce men and channel energy
  • Trend has gone viral on TikTok with more than 671 million views trying it out
  • But many have said they are simply ‘smizing’ – and the trend is nothing new

Generation Z can be credited with the rise of TikTok, a return to noughties fashion and the death of a side parting.

And now they’re trying to take the credit for inventing the smile.

Influencers are claiming to popularise a simple movement that sees women upturn their lips and raise their eyebrows, arguing it’s a ‘siren gaze’ that has been used by historic femme fatales to seduce men and ‘send subliminal messages to male pleasure points’.

The Siren Gaze: the key to obsession on the page 🌹

Some go as far to say the expression is a practice of dark femininity, and taps into the energy of Lilith – the first wife of Adam who was banished from the Garden of Eden for not obeying him.

However, many will recognise this movement as a simple smile – or ‘smize’ (eye smile)  – but that hasn’t stopped ‘siren gazing’ from becoming a trend.

The trend has 671 million views on TikTok with one account – Secrets of a Siren – racking up 200,000 followers.

One video from the account claims the look will have men ‘obsessed’.

‘When you master your siren gaze and now you can make men obsessed with you by just looking at them the right way.

‘The siren gaze sends subliminal messages to a man that hits sexual pleasure points

‘He won’t even know why he is so addicted to you.

‘This is the secret behind stars like Alexa Demie and Marilyn Monroe. Now it’s time for you to tap into your feminine power.’

But many have mocked the trend – claiming that they are just smiling

The videos even questionably claim the face is the same that women pull right before the have an organism –  which is why it’s so irresistible to men.

But many have mocked the trend –  claiming that they are just smiling.

‘Gen Z think they invent everything. Simple smizing is now devil worship. Move man,’ Twitter user Black Girls Book Club wrote.

2022 is the year you step in to your villain era 🖤

‘Siren gaze is just another word for Smizing…smiling, but with your eyes. Who the f*** looks like that when they’re having an orgasm?’ said another.

Many others compared it to smizing – which was popularised by Tyra Banks while hosting America’s Next Top Model in the noughties.

‘Isn’t the siren gaze just “smizing”? It’s the same gaze Tyra Banks would make models do on ANTM,’ said one.

‘Its literally the open mouth inhale right before a sexy pic so your lips are slightly parted. These girls are amateurs,’ added another.

‘Pardon me for showing my age, but is the “siren gaze” not just “smizing?”’ wrote another.

‘BOY what were they smoking when they said Gen z was here to shake the table? Not smizing and calling it a siren gaze,’ commented one.

‘Tiktok girlies obsessing over that “siren gaze” will always be funny to me cuz clearly they’ve never seen a single antm episode lol it’s called smizing besties’.
