Gogglebox pets: Meet the canine stars of the Channel 4 show including The Malones Rottweilers

For the last 10 years, we’ve spent the majority of our Friday nights lounging in our PJs, with a takeaway on our laps and a glass of wine in hand as we watch people watch the telly for fun.

The iconic channel 4 show Gogglebox has introduced us to some of the most hilarious characters in the UK (many of whom have earned national treasure status), and given us some of the funniest one liners in TV.

But aside from our fave couch potatoes (Sophie and Pete, Jenny and Lee, Giles and Mary, the list could go on…) many of the Goggleboxers are accompanied by their four-legged friends as they make comments on the latest Netflix hits.

From the Malones’ Rottweilers to Stephen and Daniel’s poodles, behold the furry (and sometimes just as funny) stars of the show…

The Malones' Rottweilers

When the Malones first joined the cast back in 2014, they brought classic Mancunian humour, lots of cakes that always go untouched and their three massive Rottweilers: Dave, Bob and Lucy.

Fast forward nine years and you literally can’t picture the family without them – whether they’re hilariously blocking the TV screen, lying in awkward positions, or most famously, headbutting Tom Senior in the face.

Giles and Mary’s Spaniel

When eccentric couple Giles and Mary introduced viewers to their furball Merlin, fans fell head over heels in love with the Tibetan Spaniel.

While the dog doesn’t feature on our screens as much as the Malones’ pets, Merlin has made it onto Gogglebox’s Instagram page before wearing the sweetest matching jumper with Giles, who recently had to shut down rumours that the pair were 'axe murderers'.

Pete’s Corgi puppy

Pete’s had his adorable dog Colin for a couple of years now, and the Corgi has made regular appearances alongside him and his sister, Sophie.

The pup has also become pretty popular with fans because of the chaos he causes when filming.

When Pete introduced Colin to Sophie for the first time, he went wild and started jumping, running and basically just caused havoc in the small living space.

He even tried to drink some of Sophie’s coffee, to which she hilariously replied: “He’ll be off his t*ts.”

Dave and Shirley’s Frenchies

Welsh couple David and Shirley are always on hand to make fans laugh with their quick witted remarks and constant banter.

Aside from being firm fan favourites, the pair also share the limelight with their two French Bulldogs: Rupert and Bleu.

It’s clear the pups enjoy the attention, as the pair often post snaps of them on their own joint Instagram page.

From solo shots of them chilling in the sunshine to the pair being camera ready and sitting on their owners laps, many fans often comment on how sweet the pups are.

Stephen and Daniel’s poodles

Brighton favourites Stephen and Daniel have long included their furry friends during their Gogglebox stints.

The Sussex-based hairdressers own three adorable poodles: Babs, Princess and Betsy, and the dogs are regularly seen sitting on their owners laps as they watch the telly.

Ellie and Izzie’s Greyhounds

Leeds sisters Ellie and Izzie never fail to make us laugh with their hilarious one-liners and have been a permanent fixture on the show for years.

In more recent times, the pair have been joined by Ellie’s Italian greyhounds – Mick and Madge. (If you know, you know.)

Alongside the Benidorm duo, Izzie and Ellie – who is preparing for her upcoming baby shower – also added three more pups to their clan a couple of years ago – two adorable mini Dachshunds named Morris and Fudge, plus a cute Chihuahua called Cookie.

Abbie and Georgia’s Staffy

Unlike the Malones’ Rottweilers or Pete’s Corgi that constantly cause chaos, Northern Goggleboxers Abbie and Georgia are frequently joined by Georgia’s chill Staffordshire Bull terrier, Vinnie.

After joining in 2018, the friends also became full time funny cast members, which meant dog lovers got an extra pooch to coo over on Friday evenings.
