In the modern world of fast consumption, it can often feel like there’s a new viral must-have every hour. That’s why we’re always super impressed by iconic products that manage to keep people hooked for a lifetime – such as a gorgeously classic fragrance, eh?

Step forward the luxe AF Issey Miyake Collection, with the Japanese luxury label fostering a very loyal following thanks to its signature scents.

One of the most purchased is its Eau de Toilette, which apparently means getting ready and NOT water from the bog (who knew?)

Anywho, this was the brand’s first-ever fragrance for men and is infused with yuzu, the iconic Japanese citrus and tangerine. There’s also water lily for a touch of the aquatic and the whole thing is then balanced with warm spicy notes of tobacco, vetiver and sandalwood. Yum.

It’s also famed for its sleek and modern bottle which, like us after the Christmas party season, gets wider at the base.

The reviews for the brand really paint a picture of the customer loyalty. From men repurchasing it for decades, to families giving it to the younger generation as their introduction into manhood.

One, when talking about the 4.5-star-rated Intense L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Eau & Cèdre said: ‘It commands the attention of those around you and leave them wanting to know what it is that you are wearing.’

That’s a rousing review if we ever saw it.

Echoing similar sentiments, one noted: ‘I was very pleased with the feedback I received from coworkers and other counterparts. This cologne really boosted my esteem with compliments received on numerous occasions. Definitely my go to scent!’

As one reviewer, who goes by the name of Cool Grandma, claimed: ‘My Grandson is 17 and has just started hogging the bathroom haha! and covers himself in Issy now – which is much nicer than previous when he had bathroom phobia.’

We can only imagine the previous stench…

We also love a customer that goes above and beyond with their review and Monica penned pure poetry with hers.

‘There’s something oldie worldie comforting about this smell,’ she said. ‘It reminds me of Sunday dinners or Christmas Eve, warm and cuddly. I know that sounds odd but it really is a pleasant and relaxing smell that last all day. [sic]’

Erm, sorry but we weren’t expecting an emotional punch to the gut. Excuse us whilst we spritz a bit of Issey Miyake and cry to Father and Son by Cat Stevens.

We think one of our fave reviews came from a delightful man named Max, who said: ‘This is such a classy scent that I never tire off and neither does my misses’.

Then, in what we assume is a statement about the fragrance and not his performance in the bedroom, he added: ‘It does not take many pumps to make you feel a million dollars.’ Words to live by, Max.

The luxury fragrance isn’t cheap but sometimes you have to splurge for quality. And with Father’s Day fast approaching, the Issey Miyake collection is a really wonderful gift.

Especially if your previous presents for your dad included a pair of socks, a cheap pack of beers or an insulting card about their receding hairline.

Yeah, you know the ones.
