This Schiaparelli runway look was dying for a red carpet moment, and we’re glad Anya Taylor-Joy made it a reality. The golden velvet design included a massive cape detail, which flowed down both sides, over top a structured matching minidress. Aquazzura sandals completed the high-fashion pretty look, which we really need to see from more angles…

_

So regal! Anya Taylor-Joy pulled off this gold moment flawlessly, and added another metallic infusion via that unique knotted necklace. Then she decided to ditch the cape element of her ensemble, revealing a whole new look…

_

After ditching the cape, Anya Taylor-Joy was left with a chic and shiny gold structured Schiaparelli velvet minidress that held its own totally solo.

Florence Pugh served up a hit in this standout custom Nina Ricci by Harris Reed confection. From the vibrant orange shade to the structured tulle and asymmetrical train, there was a lot to love about this showing. But one of our favorite parts? The way her hair artfully matched the frock. See what we mean next…

_

It’s not every day a star can match their hairstyle to their gown. Florence Pugh did just that, rocking a spiky updo that mimicked the pleated structure of her gown’s tulle. This unique detail made this look a standout in our book.

_

Snore! Carey Mulligan arrived in this super simple black gown with a straight neckline. Though we appreciated the full skirt, the dress was otherwise entirely forgettable, scoring a miss against some other show-stopping gowns of the night.

_

Julianne Moore made the case for glam feather wraps on BAFTA Awards night, sporting this luxe white addition atop her black strapless Saint Laurent gown. Let’s take a closer look at the details on this look…

We really appreciated the return of this glamorous accessory — the wispy white feathered wrap — over top an elegant and simple frock. We loved the Old Hollywood nod this combo brought to the carpet and the diamonds she incorporate, to…

Stunning! Julianne Moore added Bulgari diamonds to the mix, sporting this knotted neckline and simple diamond earrings.

We’re still exhausted by the sheer trend, but Ariana DeBose chose to keep it alive in this Fendi number, which featured a strapless bodysuit underneath a totally sheer netted long-sleeved gown. Next!

Spring is around the corner, but Angela Bassett summoned it early in this dreamy pale pink and lilac Pamella Roland number. We lover the halter neck detail, those dreamy oversized sleeves, and her statement clutch. Let’s get a closer look…

_

Angela Bassett carried around a lovely purple floral design from Judith Lieber, which was coated in sparkly crystals. An intricate diamond ring adorned her left hand, and some stunning earrings rounded out this standout look…

_

Angela Bassett rocked these feather-shaped diamond studded earrings by Bouchern to complete her stellar BAFTA Awards ensemble. A blue ribbon supporting the #WithRefugees Coalition was added to the top of her frock to show support (you’ll see many other stars rocking them tonight as well).

Michelle Yeoh can always be counted upon for a high fashion moment, so this pantsuit — complete with a cape! — from Christian Dior was no surprise. The unique silhouette and the stunning soft pink shade were a breath of fresh air on the red carpet. We’ll get a better view of her accessories next…

_

Those drop earrings! The chunky bracelet! The diamond studded watch! Michelle Yeoh nailed it when it came to adding the perfect accessories — she even found an extra stylish way to rock the blue ribbon supporting refugees that many stars in attendance wore, tying it like a chic blue ring.

_

While we loved the purple shade, we didn’t adore all the fixings on Jodie Turner-Smith’s BAFTA Awards gown. From the sparkles to the ombre purple color flowing down the tiered layers of feathers, there was almost too much happening to focus. But one element we loved? The necklace she rocked with the busy frock…

_

Jodie Turner-Smith went with another unexpected pop of color — blue! — via these heart shaped jewels! The star wore earrings and a matching heart necklace, then kept the colors going with her beauty look as well… adding pink rhinestones to her cheeks and sporting bright pink and purple eyeshadow.

_

Those ruffles! The velvet! We’re seriously crushing on Ana de Armas’ Louis Vuitton confection. Tiny spaghetti straps held this one up, which included a sweet ruffled bodice and a fitted silhouette. Her beauty look and accessories were just as stunning, which we’ll see next…

_

Ana de Armas went with an unorthodox makeup choice — a dark red lip — which contrasted with her pale pink dress perfectly. A diamond necklace added a little sparkle to this A+ look.

_

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley underwhelmed in this black Alaïa gown. Though we appreciated the turtleneck detail, it lost us at the cutouts down the center of the skirt. Despite not liking the frock, we did adore her strappy black sandals… and her beauty look! See it next…

_

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked absolutely flawless with a slicked back hairstyle, and her smokey eye and dark lip accentuated her stunning features.

_

This color! We instantly fell in love with Viola Davis’s custom Stella McCartney creation thanks to that rich purple shade. And the sweet silhouette paired with a cape detail were the icing on the cake.

_

Vera Wang arrived wearing… what else? Vera Wang! The designer sported this odd ensemble, comprised of a black bandeau underneath a one-shouldered slinky white silk gown that dipped down to her waist. Topping things off (and adding insult to injury?) was a creamy sweater she wore around her arms.

_

Sophie Turner not only accessorized with a blue ribbon, but mounds of multicolored pendants with this black lace Louis Vuitton design. The long-sleeved dress included a high neck and floor-length skirt, with the full surface dotted with gorgeous gemstones in different shapes and sizes. We’ll get a better view next…

Sophie Turner’s glam Louis Vuitton dress became an unexpected favorite of the night — just look at all the beautiful embellishments!

_

The Louis Vuitton looks at the BAFTA Awards were very eclectic, which meant we were bound to have some misses. Cynthia Erivo’s fell in that category. Though we liked the structured sleeve and metallic fringe element, we weren’t crazy about that fiery bronze shade.

_

It’s giving movie star bride! Lily James went with a bridal, winter white design from Tamara Ralph. From the intricate, bejeweled bodice to the bow detail at the base of the back, there’s a lot to take in with this gorgeous gown…

_

From the back, Lily James’ Tamara Ralph dress featured a massive bow at the back that flowed into a dramatic train. And if you thought that was the most glamorous element of the frock, you’d be wrong!

Our favorite part of Lily James’ BAFTA Awards dress were the stunning jewels and pearls that dotted the netted bodice. Absolutely gorgeous!

_

We love Cate Blanchett’s dedication to rewearing couture! For the BAFTA Awards, the legendary star sported the simple black Maison Margiela gown she wore to the 2015 Academy Awards. But when it came time to accessorize, she made sure to change things up…

Cate Blanchett originally wore this Maison Margiela dress with a chunky turquoise necklace, but for tonight’s occasion she opted for a Louis Vuitton creation of five strands of pearls.

Nicola Coughlan served up a sweet floral moment in Valentino, donning this long-sleeved white dress with black lace flowers with blue embellishments. We loved the surprising infusion of blue and black, and the unique bateau neckline on a red carpet gown.Let’s get a better glimpse of the detailing…

Pretty black lace floral embellishments dotted Nicola Coughlan’s Valentino frock, but the blue petals were one of our favorite parts. Diamond earrings and a rosy lip shade rounded out this pretty BAFTA Awards look.
