Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas’ showbiz connections from Emmerdale sister to pop star ex

Hollyoaks 'bad boy' Jamie Lomas has announced he and girlfriend Jess Bell are engaged following an elaborate Mexican proposal and three years together.

The couple, who first met through mutual friends on a night out three years ago, are set to tie the knot as they shared their happy news exclusively with OK!

Opening up on their romance, soap star Jamie, 48, told us: “We built the friendship first – we both thought that was important – and then something deeper grew out of that.”

Jamie, 48, has had a successful career in soap land, having had minor roles in Heartbeat playing Craig Harker in 2005 and in Casualty playing Nathan Simmonds.

Jamie has also appeared in Coronation Street, Brookside, EastEnders and of course his current role of Warren Fox in Hollyoaks.

Off screen, newly-engaged Jamie has plenty of soap star connections too, having been married to Coronation Street's Kym Marsh and having a very famous TV star sister.

Here, we take a look at his connections…

Jamie's sister

Jamie Lomas' most famous sister is Charley Webb, 35, who played Debbie Dingle on Emmerdale.

The siblings enjoy an extremely close relationship with Jamie walking Charley down the aisle amid her soap star-studded wedding to Matthew Wolfenden in 2018.

Despite being famed for roles on opposite soaps, Charley regularly gives shout outs to her brother on social media and shares throwback snaps of them together.

Other famous family members

The soap connection continues as Jamie's younger sibling Danny Webb was the first ever Aaron Livesy on Emmerdale between 2003 and 2006.

Danny, 24, also starred as Paul Herriot in The Bill before giving up acting.

His youngest sister, Lucy Webb, 13, also starred in Emmerdale from a very young age.

Lucy played baby Jon Dingle between 2004 and 2007 when she was just tiny.

Jamie's sister Cassie Lomas is also a well known celebrity makeup artist and has her beauty products stocked in Superdrug. She's also the founder of Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy.

Finally, Jamie has another sister, Kelly Lomas, who keeps a pretty low profile compared to her famous siblings.

Kym Marsh

Jamie was in a relationship with former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh for over five years. The couple started dating publicly in 2008, after Kym divorced ex husband Jack Ryder.

The couple were thrilled when Hear'Say singer Kym fell pregnant.

Tragically their son Archie was born prematurely at just 21 weeks, and died within minutes of being born in 2009.

Kym, who has two grown-up children Emilie and David from her relationship with Dave Cunliffe, and Jamie went on to welcome daughter Polly in March 2011, and Kym went on to bravely film scenes with her Corrie character Michelle Connor suffering a stillbirth.

Speaking at the time, Kym said: "I wanted to help women like me, and I wanted to honour Archie. I knew it would be really painful but this is an issue that affects thousands of families every year and it’s something that often isn’t talked about."

The couple married in September 2012 in a star-studded ceremony alongside soap star guests.

Kym and Jamie were granted a divorce in July 2014.

The pair appear to now be on amicable terms following the split, as she shared her support for Jamie after he appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2017. She tweeted: "Yayy get in Jennie and Jamie!! Polly is ecstatic! Now I have removed her fingernails from my arm all is well!!!!"
