From competitors to lovers, Mariana, 26, and Fabiola, 22, met during the 2020 Miss Grand International competition and both ended up in the top ten. 

And according to their Instagram post announcing their marriage and relationship, the two lovebirds have kept their relationship a secret for two years, meaning sparks flew while the pageant queens battled for the crown. 

They announced their marriage through a 30-second clip on Instagram that showed the lovebirds traveling together and cozying up to each other while on vacation; the video then cut to a clip of the red balloons, rose petals and balloons that read ‘marry me’ that filled their apartment before showing a final clip of them kissing outside of the Marriage Bureau.

Mariana and Fabiola’s love story began at the 2020 Miss Grand International beauty pageant, where the two both represented their respective countries. 

Both Mariana and Fabiola are known for their stellar looks – both on the competitive stage and on social media – and while they sure know how to rock any outfit, the two are also masters in garnering a few crowning titles. 

Mariana, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, boasts 138,000 followers on her Instagram, where she shows off her killer body, model shoots and various vacations. 

The model has attended multiple beauty pageants and was even named Miss Universe Argentina in 2019 and Miss Grand Argentina the following year. 

At the 2020 Miss Grand International competition – where the two lovebirds first felt the sparks fly amid sparkly dresses and teased hair  –  Mariana was placed in the top ten along with her lover Fabiola. 

The newlyweds had similar journeys that led them both to the pageant where they rocked full glam, boast their love of their respective countries and of course fell in love.  

In 2020, Fabiola was appointed as Miss Grand Puerto Rico and went on to not only find the love of her life while competing for the crown, but also placed in the top ten of the Miss Grand International competition. 

Despite not winning the contest, they both won each other’s hearts as they seemingly competed together in the ‘preliminary competition’ – which where contestants get to show off their walks in short or long evening dresses and even swimsuits. 

And while they grew close while competing, they seemingly fell in love as the competition neared the end.

When the two were placed in the top ten together, they allegedly fell in love with each other during the ‘final show’. 

The final show sees contestants showcasing their unique skills, performing a dance, giving a speech and even participating in ‘close interview sessions’, which see the President of President of Miss Grand International asking the contestants questions about their personality and their opinions. 

And while the two couldn’t help but notice the sparks when they first laid eyes on each other, it seems as though they truly won over each other’s hearts during the close interview sessions after hearing more about their thoughts and getting to know each other.

While they never confirmed the details of their relationship and it’s unclear when exactly the two began dating, the pair constantly gushed about each other on their Instagram accounts

The pair continued to simply hint at their relationship while posting about their ‘friendship’ and saying they were ‘blessed’ to have each other 

The two kept fans guessing with their vague, yet suggestive Instagram posts until a few days ago, where they let their secret out and confirmed their relationship

The couple left jaws dropped when they revealed they had been secretly dating for the past two years, so how exactly did they keep their relationship hidden? 

Since the Miss Grand International competition ended, the two have frequently posted each other on social media, frequently telling the world they were just ‘friends’. 

And while they never confirmed the details of their relationship and it’s unclear when exactly the two began dating, the pair constantly gushed about each other on their respective Instagram accounts, even saying they were ‘blessed’ to be in each other’s lives. 

The first post came in April of 2021 and it showed the two models wrapped up in each other’s arms in the water and walking hand-in-hand in Thailand. 

Fabiola was the first to post about the pair, captioning the flicks of them cozied up in the water, ‘One of the great gifts in this experience was your friendship, walking this process with you was a special and real one. Miss you, my girl.’ 

The pair continued to simply hint at their relationship while posting about their ‘friendship.’ 

In August 2021, Fabiola gave a heartwarming shoutout to her now-wife on her birthday, claiming she hoped to hold onto their ‘friendship forever.’ 

Wishing her lover a happy birthday, Fabiola wrote: ‘Thank you for making me part of your life and accomplice of your happiness.

‘You are a priceless treasure and I hope to keep our friendship forever.’

And as hard as they tried to keep their relationship private, the posts continued to become more and more suggestive there was something going on behind closed doors.  

A few months after her heartwarming birthday post, Fabiola posted a picture of the two best friends-turned-lovers on her Instagram.

The two snuggled up on the beach as the waves crashed behind them and even posted a flick laying on each other, all while fans questioned whether or not their relationship was simply just platonic. 

One month later, Fabiola reposted the same set of pictures this time saying she was ‘blessed’ to have Mariana in her life and ended her caption by saying, ‘I love you.’

In December of 2021, Mariana even took a trip to Fabiola’s hometown Puerto Rico and visited Fabiola and her now in-laws. 

In March of this year, the two once again teased fans about their possible relationship by posting another set of pictures, this time out and about, touching faces and grinning from ear to ear, visibly in love with each other.

A few days ago, Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico revealed they secretly tied the knot, adding that they they’ve been in a ‘private’ relationship for two years. 

The models and beauty queens confirmed their relationship and marriage in a joint Instagram reel shared to their combined 245,000 followers. 

Announcing their marriage, the reel showed snippets of the couple’s relationship throughout the two years. 

The 30-second video showed the couple – who tied the knot October 28 -traveling together and snuggling up to each other on Jobos beach in Puerto Rico and enjoying a romantic boat ride in Mexico. 

Captioning the video, which raked up over 2.1 million views, ‘After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to them on a special day,’ they then shared footage from the magical night of their engagement. 

With red and white balloons, rose petals, fairy lights and gold balloons reading ‘Marry Me?’, the couple’s engagement was one fit for two queens. 

The video then cuts to a clip of Fabiola putting a stunning engagement ring on  Mariana’s finger. 

The couple’s rings are nearly identical cushion-cut diamonds on a pavé band.

The clip ends with the couple sharing a kiss outside the Marriage Bureau in San Juan. 

Fabiola kept it fun and sported a white blazer dress with a fringed skirt, while Mariana opted for a chic white blazer and black dress pants. 

The heartwarming reel amassed over 166,000 likes and fans were quick to flood the comments section congratulating the newlyweds. 

One user wrote: ‘Omg! Congratulations sisters! Love love love!’

Another added: ‘Congratulations!! Many blessings to you!”

‘Congratulations beautiful, a third wrote. ‘God bless your union and long live love!!!!’

Blown away by the responses on their marriage announcement, Mariana wrote on her Instagram Story: ‘Thanks for all the love! We are very happy and blessed.

‘I wish you that the love you are giving us is multiplied! Endless thanks.’

Argentina legalized same-sex marriage in 2010, and Puerto Rico also made it legal in 2015.

Fans even called their marriage the ‘best that Miss Grand has given us!’
