A plastic surgery fan who wanted to have green eyes like her mother was left blind after a botched operation.

Adult star Korina Kova described it as the biggest regret of her life and she is still dealing with the trauma.

The Canadian travelled to Mexico to have cosmetic eye surgery that was not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Despite knowing the risks, she was desperate to turn her naturally coloured brown eyes green.

But years later, doctors declared her blind in one eye and visually impaired in the other, before she had emergency surgery to remove the dangerous silicone lens implants.

She has 1.7million Instagram followers but she kept her surgery struggles a secret from her fans – until now.

Korina, 35, opened up to British porn legend Tanya Tate on her Skinfluencer Success podcast.

In the teary interview, she said: “The regret of my life… the top regret of my life.

“I thought it was going to be the biggest game changer for me and I thought I was going to finally live my dream of having my mom’s eyes.

“The surgery was just a five minute process to put them in and I was seeing straight away so I was thinking ‘well that went well’ and I had 20/20 vision.

“I loved having them in so much. I was so attached to them and they were my identity for a good amount of time in the industry.”

Before the surgery, Korina reached out to multiple people who had the same procedure done in the same medical practice for reassurance.

She also took after care seriously and drove four hours every three months to visit Canada’s top eye doctor to regularly check everything was ok with her sight.

The OnlyFans model did this consistently for four years without any complications until she one day realised her implants were a “ticking time bomb”.

She said: “Basically, the twins I had contacted [before the surgery], the one twin went completely blind. The other one was getting them removed and she had some complications from that.

“So I am scared. I told my eye surgeon I need to get them out, they are a ticking time bomb in my eye. I’m not dumb, I know what I did, [but] I need to take action.

“In Canada they won’t perform surgery unless there is a reason. She looked into my eyes and there was no trouble. I was seeing 20/20 and there was no reason for her to perform surgery so I actually said maybe I will go back to Mexico and have them taken out and she scared me straight, she said ‘don’t do that, you will not end up ok’.”

But unfortunately for Korina, her gloomy fear about her eyes being a ticking time bomb was correct.

Recounting the horror of what happened next, she said: “I made it another year and I woke up one morning and it’s a blur. It is like Vaseline rubbed across my eye. It started in my right eye and I am thinking this is it… this is not good news.

“I rush to see her and she does the tests on me and as an eye specialist she cannot believe what she’s seeing because she just saw me three months ago and my endothelium count was at 1800 which is high. They don’t grow back but I had nothing left to count.

“They are what clears your cornea of the cloudiness and they just started swelling and the implant rubbed across the endothelia, killing them off instantly.”

She added: “It was a big shock and it almost cost me my life because being bipolar, that was the lowest low I have ever experienced. It almost took my life.”

Surgeons could only do one removal at a time and Korina was diagnosed as blind in one eye.

Korina, who also suffers from gigantomastia meaning her boobs won’t stop growing, started to have panic attacks and she later learned that the implant used has a life span of just five years on 90% of patients.

Thankfully, she now has her vision back in both eyes after two removal surgeries and she later went on to smash her own monthly earnings as a kinky online solo creator.

She had two purposely built studios at her home and she has since gone from strength to strength, despite fearing her career and vision could have been destroyed.

Korina became an online creator after having been an exotic dancer for six years and she is now full of gratitude for being able to live life as normal again.

She concluded: “I gained so much from going through that. I was taking a lot for granted and you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone kind of thing.

“I learned so many good life and career lessons. I have broken my records and I never thought I would be able to do that.

“I could have had a career change because when it first happened I thought I was going to have to change everything. I am going to have to go into a job and nobody would accept my past and what if what if.

“But I really had a passion for this industry and I was determined to stand my ground and make my comeback.”
