I moved across the Pacific for a man who lied to me about his secret wife | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: I MOVED across the Pacific for a man who lied to me about his secret wife.

He told me she was his sister but after hearing her Polish accent on the phone, I knew he was being dishonest.

I’m 35 and he’s 40. We met online two years ago and instantly hit it off.

After making a few trips back and forth, I decided to move to England so that we could be nearer to each other.

When I arrived he confessed that his “sister” was, in fact, his ex and that they were still married.

He begged me to stay, and even though I felt like something was wrong, I did.

DEIDRE SAYS: It is completely understandable that you are feeling betrayed by your partner.

Moving across the world for someone is an incredibly big life adjustment.

The important thing to remember is that trust is integral to having a healthy and happy relationship.

If you can’t trust this man – I would urge you to consider finishing the relationship – you are under no obligation to stay.
