A DERMATOLOGIST has revealed how your iPhone could be giving you acne – but a free hack will fix the problem in seconds.

Dr Mamina Turegano took to TikTok to explain how your mobile phone may be destroying your skin.



The board certified dermatologist, known by her followers as @dr.mamina, said she treats acne every day and revealed the free things you can do to cure it.

She captioned the helpful video: "Skincare involves more than actual topical products. These are simple yet impactful (and free) ways that can compliment your skincare regimen".

The first and most vital hack she shares is to "keep your phones clean".

Explaining how we touch our phones everyday, the doctor revealed that they're "covered in bacteria".

The next fact left her followers feeling queasy as she said: "One study showed that our phones have way more bacteria than a public restroom".

Mamina then went on to demonstrate how on a daily basis we hold our phones up to our cheek when answering calls, and this contact can transfer the bacteria onto our skin.

"I strongly recommend that you keep your phone clean," she added.

She then provided a list of simple and free hacks you can do to lessen the amount of germs transferred to your skin from your mobile phone.

"You can do this by wiping it down with antibacterial wipes, you can also use a damp cloth with soap and water, or use a cloth with 70 per cent alcohol".

And this cheap and easy hack could help tackle your acne in just seconds.

The video post racked up a mega 1.6k likes and viewers were quick to leave their thoughts and appreciation for Mamina's hack.

One user wrote: "Great hacks!"

Another added a hack of her own: "#4 sleep on your back, helps reduce wrinkles".

Dr Mamina has over 930k followers on her TikTok page and over 18.2million likes in total.

She is known for giving skincare and health advice and even answers some of her followers questions on how they can best look after themselves.

This comes after a cosmetic doctor revealed how to "cure" adult acne and claims the products really work.
