Inside Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor star Ryan Prescott’s stunning countryside home
Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott took on what was arguably the toughest and most harrowing scenes of his career this week, as his character Ryan Connor fell victim to an acid attack as a long running stalking storyline came to a head.
As his character now faces the prospect of life changing injuries and a gruelling road to recovery, it’s safe to say the scenes have not been for the faint hearted to watch – or to film.
Thankfully after such emotionally taxing scenes on set, Ryan has a far more relaxed life off screen to help him unwind and decompress at the end of a long day.
Swapping the cobbles for a large house tucked away in the countryside unlike his DJing alter-ego, Ryan actually prefers a far calmer life, with a few unexpected hobbies that set him apart from the character he plays.
While Ryan prefers to keep his private life away from the spotlight, the star has shared a handful of videos and photos in the past which have offered a fleeting glimpse into his life beyond Corrie.
For example, we know Ryan lives in a dreamy red bricked house surrounded by plenty of stunning country views, and even his very own deck to enjoy the sunshine and natural splendour around his home.
Eagle eyed fans have also seen a fleeting glimpse of the star’s small but well designed kitchen which is decked out in a chic monochrome colour scheme.
In one snap shared by the star, Ryan also revealed he’s a big fan of painting, and regularly sits outside in his garden to unwind at the end of the day and capture the views with his impressive artistry.
With the outdoors so very near and dear to his heart, Ryan likes to spend as much time outdoors as he can, and is even a keen hiking fan.
He recently even shared snaps from a trek to Blencathra, Sharp Edge in the Lake District before taking a brutal plunge into icy water for a cold swim – the perfect preparation for his acid attack aftermath scenes, which Ryan revealed were filmed in a very cold shower!
As well as his own love of hiking, the cobbles favourite is also keen to encourage more people to adopt the practice, and is even an ambassador for LETS (Living Beyond Emotional Trauma and Stress), a charity which brings people together through hiking retreats to help improve their physical and mental health.
He previously said about his work: “I know, all too well, the difficulty of managing the labyrinth that is psychological wellness and the endless barriers of thought that hold us all back from clarity and freedom…"
“Charities like LETS have such an important role to play, for anyone at all in need of finding a way through the darkest chapters of their lives.”
Ryan is also a big proponent of practices such as meditation and mindfulness, and previously shared a photograph of himself looking out towards Pendle Hill in Lancashire as he spared a few moments to reflect.
Away from Corrie, Ryan also possesses a flair for travel and has regularly posted snaps from his sun soaked getaways with friends and family – although usually always outside, enjoying the great outdoors!
