I've noticed my grand-daughter manipulates her mum – Should I say something? | The Sun
DEAR DEIDRE: HOW do I handle my grand-daughter who is behaving like a spoiled brat.
She’s nearly 27. My daughter is 47 and is a single mum.
She’s worked three jobs to get my granddaughter through university.
Now my daughter is finally getting her life back. She’s met a new man and saved up to visit her brother in Australia.
My granddaughter asked if she could go with her mother but wanted her to pay, even though she is better paid.
My daughter couldn’t afford to pay for two flights, so asked her to stay and look after the family cat.
Since then, my grand-daughter has been sending my daughter constant texts saying she feels rejected. She’s even called her twice, saying she can hear strange noises outside or “somebody may be trying to break in”.

She’s just attention seeking. It’s ruining my daughter’s visit.
To my mind, she’s very manipulative. Should I tell her to take a reality check?
DEIDRE SAYS: You can encourage your grand-daughter to be more considerate by talking about how hard your daughter worked to support her.
Mention how wonderful it is your daughter can finally enjoy a little travel, enabling your granddaughter to have more independence.
Suggest she invites a friend over if she doesn’t like staying home alone.
