Princess Charlotte’s upbringing would certainly be unlike any other child in the UK. However, she does have a particular interest in a popular sport other children her age enjoy. What is the young Princess’ favourite hobby?
On August 2 of this year, Prince William, Kate, Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte attended The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
They made a visit to Team England Futures, a partnership between SportsAid, Sport England and Commonwealth Games England to better prepare Team England, Team GB or ParalympicsGB debutants.
The seven-year-old was asked what her favourite sport is, to which she replied “gymnastics”.
William and Kate vouched for their daughter’s passion, with the Prince revealing that Charlotte is partial to practising at home.
He stated that she does “cartwheels all around the house”, with Kate adding that the young gymnast is very adventurous.
She revealed that her young daughter “spends most of her time upside down”.
The proud parents also revealed that Charlotte enjoys watching swimming, particularly breast stroke. She was pictured having a fabulous time observing the event alongside her parents.
The little Princess was encouraged to get involved on her visit to Team England Futures.
She tried her hand at a shopping basket game, sorting different foods into their food groups.
Next, she watched as some of the staff blended smoothies using powered bicycles.
Unsurprisingly, the little gymnast also enjoys dancing around the house – to one artist in particular.
On Apple podcast Time to Walk, William revealed that Charlotte is a huge fan of Waka Waka by Shakira.
“There’s a lot of hip movements going along. There’s a lot of dressing up.
“Charlotte particularly is running around the kitchen and her dresses and ballet stuff and everything.
“She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.
“And so it’s a really happy moment where all the children just enjoy dancing, messing around and singing.”
Princess Charlotte is not the only royal with a very ordinary, relatable hobby.
Queen Camilla told Vogue that there is a particular word game that she enjoys playing with her granddaughter.
She did not specify which, but she has two granddaughters, Eliza Lopes, 14, and Lola Parker Bowles, 15, in addition to step-granddaughter Charlotte.
The Queen Consort stated: “I do Wordle every day with my granddaughter.” She revealed that she is rather good, and delights in her linguistic prowess when she wins.
“She’ll text me to say, ‘I’ve done it in three’, and I say, ‘Sorry, I’ve done it in two today’. It’s very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are.”
